Windsor Terrace Green Market in the park

This morning I found out lots of folks didn't realize this happens so I wanted to remind folks.

The Windsor Terrace farmer's market is in Prospect Park, across from the movie theater, on Wednesdays. I don't know how long the vendors stay out.

It's small but had some good stuff today: berries, gorgeous onions, peas, and strawberry cider. I also think they had a fish booth.

Thanks o-queen. I didn't know they had fish there too. Can't say I know when they close up, but I feel like in past years you would only see one or two vendors left by late afternoon/rush hour.

I don't eat fish so it's kind of off of my radar, but now I think I remember someone telling me it's a different fish vendor than the Saturday GAP market, but that this person thinks the WT fish booth has the best stuff.

does it have a normal proper produce area? The produce guy at Byrne Park on Sundays kinda sucks and I dont want to book it up to the WT one if it's the crappy (I've only got 30 mins to get there and back so it wouldnt be a leisurely walk...)

Exactly, Carmen. I don't love the Byrne one either. (Carrol Gardens Sunday is not bad btw. Goat cheese, Milk Thistle Dairy, a couple of veg stands, a baker, and plants.) Further details welcome on the Weds Windsor Terrace/PP market. The GAP fishmonger is Blue Moon, and they are at Union Sq other days of the week.

And thanks for posting about it OpossumQueen - I didn't know it was there either.

It's really small, probably b/c it doesn't get tons of business.

Today I definitely noticed peas, blueberries, raspberries, squash, onions, and geraniums. I'm sure there was other stuff but I don't remember what since I was there mainly for one thing.

It's probably winding down by this time but I'm not sure.

i think it may not get a lot of business because it takes place on a wednesday morning/afternoon. people work, right? as much as i would love to take the morning off to buy berries, the boss, you know, he frowns on that sort of thing.

and hardly open when anyone with a job outside the immediate neighborhood is home.

if they set up in the parking area of the park just off bartel pritchard square between 4pm and 7pm they would probably do much better.
