Its a great date place - great for food - or just to chill - it not a dance club - or a resturarant - or just a bar - its a SUPPERCLUB and #1 for the total entertainment and nightlife experience!

COME JOIN THE FUN!

mod note: the screaming headline was just TOO MUCH so it's been edited down a few db

  • Sounds like fun, but 3rd Avenue is Gowanus.
  • I do hope you make it - it will be fun - - & my real esate agent sales this as Park Slope - I confirmed it when I check my address against google maps - lol. Crossroads is a great new spot for entertainment - I really do hope you come an enjoy.
  • sounds like a great new spot for entertainment.
  • @ young and modern - It really is a great spot - right now (Wed nite) I am doing Karaoke - the bands are tomorrow - and we have another band on Friday at 10 - dance parties and comedy on Sunday -
  • Gowanus " Bounded by Butler Street to the north, the neighborhood runs alongside and surrounds the Gowanus Canal, ending with the Gowanus Expressway to the south where Hamilton Ave meets 17th street. Smith and Bond Street are generally considered the western boundaries, with Fourth Avenue as the eastern boundary."

Real estate agents tend to fabricate things to make that deal, Locals consider 3rd ave Gowanus, but 3rd ave is starting to come up. Good luck with it.
  • Subject: park slope

"Park Slope is roughly bounded by Prospect Park West to the east, Fourth Avenue to the west"

Not that I care, but 3rd ave is park slope ONLY to a real estate agent
  • Thank you all - i still hope that a block away from Park Slope and a block into Gowanus prohibits you from having a great time and checking out the band tonight - or anything else for that matter. I'm young (31) ambitious and trying to survive in this economy - and all i really care about is creating a place where all neighborhoods can come and have a great time. So will i see you tonight is the new question?
  • "JUST GOTTEN BETTER"??????
  • i had no idea what a supper club was or why it was better than a restaurant or a bar, so i looked it up. from wikipedia:

"A supper club is an American dining establishment generally found in the Upper Midwestern states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan. These establishments typically are located on the edge of town in rural areas."

3rd ave. and 6th st.? sounds about right. what kind of music do you think you'll have? are the bands as excit8ing as your grammar?

seriously, i really do hope things go well for you. opening a spot is a brave thing to do. you are pretty close to the bell house, so that area is probably getting a lot more traffic than it used to.
  • @ brokechick - pardon the grammer - i type fast sometimes and dont spell check - AND to answer your question - the bands are great. I try to work with bands that know how to make people feel good when they are playing. Tonite it will be a funk/soul band. Next Thursday we have more of a jazz/groove band. On the 30th - Rhtyhm and Blues band and August 1st we are going Salsa.

They don't have to be famous and all that jazz - my venue is not that big for a BIG band anyway - i want my place to be for local acts - acts that are creating a nice buzz for themselves - want a place where its intimate - but not stuffy and where their fans will enjoy coming to.

Your definition of a supper club is exactly us -- our chef is the head banquet chef at the Brooklyn Marriott - so the food is wonderful too. Simple - nothing to over the top - but taste so ever good.
  • Not Park Slope.....unless your a real estate agent

    Ha. Ha. "your"--- very funny.
  • Thank goodness there are guardians to protect us all from the evils of grammatical mistakes and neighborhood mislabeling! Now I can sleep at night.

Good luck with your new place, BK. I hope to make it into the wilds of Parkwanus someday soon.
  • The place sounds promising, but you may want to move the comedy night. Eugene Mirman does his Maya show on Sunday nights - they alternate between Union Hall and the Bell House, and it's arguably the best comedy night in the whole city (although, I think they may be on a hiatus over the summer). Competing with that is going to be very tough.
  • crossroads : sounds cool. will definitely check it out.
