Dead 7th Ave Restaurants - 7/09

what block is that on?
-
7th and Garfield. Under Rancho Allegre and next to Pita Pan. The big Starbucks is across the street, I think.
-
If they have good frozen custard, they will definitely be getting business from me
-
i think the chicken place sounds like something which would be successful. i'll try it for sure.
to be honest, i'd rather have the wine bar than hanabi also. i thought it was mediocre on a good day, and the couple great wine bars in the neighborhood are either in south slope (brook-vin) or down on 5th (total wine bar) so i'd welcome something closer.
will be curious to see what they do with the interior. -

ah, thanks. I don't think I've been to any of the places that has been over the past decade (nor to Rancho Allegre, which has been there for ages) -
I think it's an awesome location for a wine bar...there's really nothing like that on that stretch of 7th.

Chicken and frozen custard? I will be trying that out

The owners are always renovating and changing their restaurants and the culinary style of said restaurants. They go with the style and flow.
those are 2-types of businesses that i don't think 7th avenue needs, but then again, maybe i'm just saying that because i miss hanabi and the fine people who worked there. -

Its the same owner ? This would make sense to me if only because

I recall that space "changing" several times over the years
without ever noticing a "for rent" sign. -
totally agree with new2hood; that space is perfect for a wine bar
i dont know how hanabi survived as long as they did - the place was always empty (more workers than customers always) and is HUGE
