What do you want to do before the Summer ends?
Okay, there's like 6 weeks left until Labor Day. What haven't you done that you'd like to do before Summer's over? Here's my (partial) list:
1. Go to Governor's Island (8/18 - B-52's!)
2. Buy a bike
3. Go to the Propsect Park Bandshell;
4. Get pizza at DiFara's (for the first time)
5. Go to Vermont
6. Ride The Cyclone
7. Visit mom
Your turn. ;-)

Save Vermont for the Fall. The rest you could do in one weekend!
-
I'm going to Vermont next weekend and, again, in the Fall so I've got that covered. And I can't visit mom and do all those other things in the same weekend as she lives 5 hours away.
Where's your list? -
Bikes are fun!!
-
What kind of bike do you have and where do you ride? I have to educate myself!
-
You guys all have to start coming to the midnight bike rides!
-
Need a bike first! :-)
-
I need/want a bike as well. Not sure what I want to get though, open to any recos.
Other things on my list:
*working up to 5x/week with my yoga practice (only doing it 3-4x/week now)
*getting a cotton candy icy from nyc icy (haven't been this year yet)
*finish drawing my next tattoo (getting in the fall when it's cooler)
*getting a larger grill for my patio -

3. Lose 5 lbs -
1. Turn Em into an atheist bacon-loving mustard-on-hot-dog-eating booze-swilling out-late-stayer!
2. Get a newer lighter hybrid bike.
3. Bike to work more.
4. Organize a Brooklynian get-together at the Vodka Gallery.
5. Go back to Sripraphai.
6. Get 2 manuscripts published.

How DARE you talk about Mamacita like that!
Danielle, come to Coney Island Thursday night and be a guide on the Cyclone for one of my summer camp teens!!!!! And let's go to a Celebrate Brooklyn thing!
Carni - VODKA GALLERY YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
Whynot the outer banks are way to beautiful for you.
I would like to attend a 3rd/4th avenue Bar Crawl before the summer is out. -
1. Mountain Biking on a real mountain.
2. Governor's Island sounds like fun too.
That's it. -

Good idea! -
Danielle, if you're just looking for casual biking and not racing, which bike you choose isn't a decision you have to overthink. I have a Trek hybrid and I love it. It's light enough to carry a little when necessary and shifts nicely.
I went to R&A, bf went to Mr. C's Cycles and we are both happy so far with service and our stuff.
Get a water bottle holder and a bell put on it when you get it, and buy some lights to keep yourself visible. Find a comfortable helmet so you'll wear it and start riding. Once you start, it's very liberating to be able to get some places more easily than on foot or public transportation. We wanted to grill steaks Sunday so my bf biked to Fairway with his bike bags and was home in no time with food and happy from the ride.
My summer list:
try the Red Hook pool
have people over more often
get healed! (waiting on doc's call about latest MRI on that one)
read some of my books that get put on hold during classes
a weekend in the Catskills
Visit Philly and tour the brewery where my friend works
Take lots of pictures to get better with my camera (photo fields trips anyone?) -

1. Heal my foot
2. Ride my bike, walk the park and go back to yoga with healed foot
3. Take a good vacation (likely to Spain, but may change)
4. Come back to start a new job (this new job that I haven't even *started* looking for yet), or figure out a way never to have to work again (I've been thinking of this for 42 years with no ideas that are not illegal or too immoral)
(p.s. OQ - I went to the Red Hook pool last week - it was pretty good)
Howdy, Stranger!
