  • my box has been randomly shutting off and rebooting for the past few days ..
  • Mine has been okay, I'm in Sunset Park. Try putting a 212 in front of the number instead of 718? Or use your cell and just let it redial for you (I've done th is in the past).
  • Mine is working in WT.

  • Now it is up and running again. Apparently they are doing all kinds of DVR rebooting in Brooklyn and Queens today. If they erase my favorite episode of "Rosanne" I will not be happy.

Well, at least there is nothing on my DVR to lose right now (I watched EVERYTHING), but I'll be pissed if they save the recording selections. My DVR did get jammed up twice last week and I had to reboot it a few times - so maybe there's a big problem

  • Mine miraculously has been ok also. But, usually if it even sprinkels, my cable goes out. I am in Center Slope

  • That's so weird. I almost never have problems with my TWC. I don't have the hatred for them that most people do (understandably). On the rare occasion I have an outage, it's never lasted more than an hour or two. When I moved in, they had to create a new "drop" for my apartment. I wonder if this has something to do with it?

  • I turned on my TW DVR this morning & saw they'd updated the software...probably a system-wide software push going on or something like that (maybe it'll work better now...I can only hope)
  • squindar - did you check to make sure all of your recorded shows are still there and all of your series taping is still there? I had to replace my box once, and before i did, I had to write down all of the stuff I taped as sometimes when it's the off-season, I don't remember to add them back in
  • I see the guide has been changed and the DVR integrated into it.
  • Okay, all of my programs are there but it all looks so weird and different. They have new fonts and siaplys for everything. Ch-ch-ch-check it out.
  • I'll have to go check it out soon. Right now I am on a roll with some of the admin stuff I need to do, so trying not to lose too much momentum!

    they're scared of you

That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me.
  • Mine was reprogrammed (I was watching tv and it just went off and all kinds of crazy stuff was on the screen of the box) last week. It didn't erase any shows (this time) but everything is different and it thinks all showings of my shows are new first runs and records them all! If I watch and erase a new show, it then records it again the next time it's on. :/

My on screen menus and navigation are all different now and I'm annoyed that it no longer shows as much info on the programs.
  • One thing that's driving me crazy (although apparently not enough to research) is that I have The Daily Show set to record only first run episodes, but it always records multiple showings of the same episode.

Also, does anybody know what the green diamond means on some shows?
  • I'm with you Flexi, in the too lazy to research camp. There are all kinds of new symbols popping up on our menus and I have no idea what they mean.

I think in the series record options there's one for recording "first run" only or "all showings" or something like that. Or it could be the weirdness that my box is doing since the reprogramming.
  • Hmmm....mine looks totally normal.

oh thanks for the reminder...truth be told I'm trying to ween myself off tv and make the leap backwards to rabbit ears with a digital tuner...maybe eventually I won't need the DVR at all (sheeyah right)
  • I do NOT like this new look. It's very small and hard to read.
  • I feel like I am the only person in the world who doesn't have DVR. Just a plain old DVD recording machine

Exact same thing happens to me. My DVR thinks I'm gay for Jon Stewart and wants to give me as much of him as it can get.
