Seriously, all a girl wants is a delicious wiener. Something tasty to put between her buns. You know, maybe a little mustard, sauerkraut, yum!

But Key Foods only stocks circumcised wieners. Only "Skinless." No "natural casting" hot dogs. So there's no snap when you bite into them. A shame really.

Anyways, on a rainy day I thought I'd try and make you laugh. But really, all except one Boar's Head package, at an amazing 6.99, had natural casting and that was in the fancy expensive cheese and Italian meats section. WTF? Does no one appreciate a real NY hot dog?

Sometimes a girl just needs an authentic wiener between her lips. Damn you Key Foods!!!

  • What brand are you looking for? I cant remember if Sabrett's a are skinless, but they ARE delish and 2 for $6 this week at KF

  • I checked all the sabrett's and they said skinless. So did the Hebrew brand. I may have to settle for skinless, but Carny got me hooked on the natural casting ones and now I have a craving for them. They are really juicy and the snap when you bite into them is so good! Hee hee!
  • Sabrett's are juicy :-)

I am curious as to what brand is skinless. If you find out, let me know.
  • I've seen the FDNY in there buying groceries.

    Wait, what?

The Boar's Head natural casings ones are the best. They come in beef and pork varieties, but I prefer the beef. I think that the big 5th Ave Key Food near you has them in the case at the end of the aisle near the deli counter. I've also bought them at Bagel Hole (7th Ave and 12th).
  • I wasa going to say buy
Boar's head hot dog, they come in the natural casings andd are very, very good. Those are the ones we buy
  • I second the Boar head recommendation and c town on 9th street has them. They also have Nathans.... but they are not as good.
  • Go to Eagle Provisions, I bet they have some nice wieners and sausages,
  • From the Sabrett website:
Sabrett® is best known for their all beef natural casing and skinless frankfurters
    so thes make both

    I laughed.
  • Just went to KF on 11th Ave. They have the Boar's Head natural casing ones and also a variety of Nathan's that has natural casings as well
  • "natural casing" makes me gag.

TOO. MANY. JOKES!!!!!!
  • Yes, that one was just for you, Carni.
  • I've bought Nathan's natural casing franks at Key Food.
  • OK, let me ketchup, you relish a good wiener, one that can cut the mustard.

    Is that correct?
  • Go to Key Food on 5th and Sterling for Boars Head, or Jubilat on 5th Ave between Prospect Ave and 17th Street for homemade unclipped dogs. I think Nathan's sells cased dogs uncooked and by the pound at their Coney Island flagship. You can also try Blue Apron.
  • Don't forget Net Cost Market in Brighton. They have an amazing array of such things.

I was in Key Foods the other night and I thought the exact same thing, shopping for hot dogs. Aside from some tiny, lame oscar meyer weiners, they had nothing but beef, chicken, and turkey hot dogs. Don't they realize that real hot dogs have pork in them? I just wanted some decent bratwurst or something. They should order hot dogs from www.zweigles.com. Upstate dogs are way better than anything I find down here.
