Carni, I cannot leave work between the hours of 8 and 4 and am on call the rest of the time for the chilrens. I don't even have a boss and no one knows or cares what I do at work, so it's all on me.

Oo i have a good infection story- an ex of mine was at a soccer training camp in highschool and had an open blister on his foot but continued playing in the rainy muddy fields- woke up one day with a fever, unable to walk because of the excruciating pain and totally disoriented...his room-mate at camp brought him to the nurse who then called an ambulance...turned out he had an infection that turned his blood septic. He was in the hospital for over a week and almost died. From a stupid blister.

You need to see a doctor. Most skin infections are caused by gram positive bacteria like staph and strep. Cipro has almost NO GRAM POSITIVE COVERAGE AT ALL. This is a terrible choice of antibiotics to treat a wound infection, and your friend probably had it for traveler's diarrhea in Africa (for which it would be an excellent choice). If you had a plumbing problem in your apartment, would you borrow a wrench from a friend and start randomly banging on the pipes with it? This is what you are doing with your body. See a doctor. If you really can't go during the day and your doctor doesn't have evening office hours, go to an ER when you get off of work.

For dumbass infection stories, my dad can't be beat. He let his dog lick an open cut on his elbow and when it became infected, stabbed it with scissors to let out puss.
After a few days at the hospital and several lines of antibiotics, they basically told him if the last round doesn't work they'd have to amputate his arm. Luckily he's still able to swing an ax. Into his bare foot. Which the dog tried to lick. -
How the f did he produce you?

work rant: "we've consistently under performed on this contract for the last five years, but the real reason they are not going to funding us is discrimination."
P.S. Both the funder and my agency seem to look about the same when it pertains to race/language/and ethnicity.
...my boss is an "excellent driver" (think the movie Rainman) -

Between the green sneakers, the no bacon, Michael Jackson and Tom Hanks, I can live without you as my bestie

Tom Hanks? Meh. I did like Castaway though.
Andie McDowell? No idea either. Not pretty, not good.
Neither is that blonde chick from the Ring and recently the International. She sucks. But she's pretty. -
if tom hanks never does anything worth knowing about ever again, bosom buddies, splash, and philadelphia will preserve a special place in my heart for him. but kevin costner should be banished; never has been good, never will be good.

He was really good in Saving Private Ryan also.
