Should I say something...
Okay, so I just got home for work, and I am looking out my window... and I see 4 little kids playing in the abandon lot (Apollonia666, you know what I am talking about)...
I mean isn't that dangerous?? I can't seriously believe that there parents will let them play in a lot thats full of garabage and appliances... and rats... etc. Kind of dumb.
Anyways... I'm not a parent and all, so I am a little shy to say anything... cause you know how people get...

I didn't see your post until just now -- I actually posted about this on the PH board!
I called 311 last night and made a report to the department of buildings. And I think I'm going to call the 77th precinct today -- (718) 735-0611 -- and report it to them too. It just seems awfully dangerous to me. I don't think it would hurt for you to call too; if there's more than one complaint maybe they'll do something about it more quickly.
Was this the construction site next door to our building, or the abandoned lot further east on the block (which is also an eyesore and looks dodgy)? I saw them in the construction site.
I guess I may also start leaning out of my front window and hollering at them to get out of there next time they're in there. If I start wearing a flowered housedress and rollers in my hair when I do it, please intervene. -
Okay, I just got off the phone with the precinct. The officer I spoke with was really nice and said he'll make note of it for their patrol officers, but he also asked that I call them next time the kids are there so they can send an officer over to talk to the kids about how dangerous it is. So I'll definitely do that as well.
If I see the kids with their parents sometime, I'll try to strike up a conversation with the parents too and let them know.
Don't think it would hurt if the city was hearing about this from more than one person, so I'd still definitely encourage you to call! -
I will definitely intervene if I see you with rollers in you hair yelling out the windows...
Next time I see them, I will call the police too... b/c there are so many ways that they can get hurt..
Howdy, Stranger!
