Rant:
I clicked on the ad on the side that says "Big top cruelty." Those bastards beating on an elephant. How sad.
I've now changed my mind about taking my nephews to see that damn circus.
Oh well , there's still the Zoo. -

Rave: $1 oysters, duck rillettes, duck salad, crab pastry at Ten Bells, Smoked salmon Bruschetta at Bruschetteria - they pronounce it broo-sket-ter-ria and are adamant about ti - and wine wine wine at Brookvin.
Rant: Voodoo ignored my drunk texts for hours, making me not want to indulge anymore. -

Grocery shopping is for suckas. -
You know you want to go with me. I'll let you use my Pathmark card. There is a good cheap liquor store there too.
-
Fairway, baby.

is that liquor store actually cheap? I might be out and about with the car this weekend and could hit it if its really worth it -

Screw dat, yo. I have a Costco card. I'm the coolest girl EVAH! -
It's cheap, but the cheapest is the one next to Costco. And you don't need to be a member of Costco to go there. You just need to be able to deal with the Costco parking lot.

Costco, it's parking lot and everything to do with it is nightmarish. I always bring someone with me to keep me from getting into fist fights. -
EM, there's an elephant sanctuary in Arkansas (and I'm sure there are others) that takes gives elephants like those a good home AND they do research (not mean stuff, just taking various samples of pee, poo and such) that is helping better understand some elephants that haven't been studied much. It's really cool (one of my college profs helped with their research so we got to go visit it for class one day. Great space for the elephants. So, there are good places and people helping the elephants. There was an animal planet episode on them once.
Rant: dog back up to toy thievery with his steel trap jaws (I can pick his 50lbs up by any toy).
Rave: nice owner of toy didn't yell at me when my dog got it and it took me a few minutes to get it back. People can be very protective of their dog toys.
Carmen, I don't remember for sure but I think what I was buying was at least a little cheaper at the big liquor store by Pathmark than where I'd gotten it before. And the selection is huge. They have plenty of parking so it's probably worth checking it out. Then you can report back. -
This is the place on 12th st btw 2nd and 3rd ave?

The Pathmark and Big J's Liquors, yeah.
But Costco is at like 35th and 4th. -
^^ Costco is on 3rd Ave. I think it's btw 38th/39th

It looks like it's this place: www.brooklynliquors.com
It's only a block from the D/M/N/R, so I think I'll try it after work. -

I should be fine if I limit myself to a case, it's just a block from liquor->subway and subway->apt -

why do you resist slope cellars free delivery?? -
Carmen wrote: why do you resist slope cellars free delivery??
Slope cellars is great, and I'll still get my wine there. Next time I might even do delivery!
But for liquor, this seems like it'll be better and cheaper. -
I love Slope Cellars (and Shawn's, of course)! Patty and staff are super nice

It might be cheaper for a few bottles, but if I'm buying by the case slope has a 15% discount. The prices are probably pretty similar after that.
Slope also has free delivery and Ben, which Costco does not.
Howdy, Stranger!
