  • Subject: Opening?

Anyone have any updates about the opening? I know it was supposed to open last Saturday, but I saw them working on it in the morning and it didn't seem to be happening...
  • I don't know, but I'm going out of town for a few days. I hope it's open when I get back. I've been harassing them for long enough :-)
  • Well, personally, I can't wait. I was going to look for a new apartment come fall, but with the addition of this new living room, I might be able to stay where I am.
  • Per the owners:

Forget about them and one day they'll be open.

Hey owners: Got some ideas for ya:

    Idea number 1:

Need decorations? I suggest asking local artists to donate one piece of art to hang on your wall. Then, print out little tags with the artist's name and address. I can print them for you if you want.

So, say, under a drawing, you'd see:

    John Doe
    14 Prospect Park South West

Purpose? To showcase the local art scene. And to decorate your entire place for under $50.

    Idea number 2:

Ask us for help. Need help cleaning? Or painting? Or just need some extra opposable thumbs. It's free. And, it might help expedite things a bit.

See you around (with my son on my shoulders probably).
  • I just had a drink there (calm down, they are NOT open yet). I think it's going to be my new hangout fo'sure.

No idea why anybody thought they were going to open last Saturday - the owner doesn't know how/why that rumor started.

    They're getting close(r).
  • Looking good guys. Like the long table in the center.

See my post about donating art, using the community, etc. Thoughts? (Yes, I want to donate some of my own art, what of it!?)

  • Big Buck Hunter!!

  • ehh, "a duck-confit sandwich with fig jam and arugula" at the double windsor?

I certainly don't mind a somewhat higher brow level of bar food, just please also have chili cheese fries and serve a great burger.

I had the same feeling when I read the menu. Oh well, I am still willing to give it a shot. But when? I thought it was supposed to be open, but it's not! :)

And that burger with fries better be under $10. We don't need another fancy $13 burger. Actually, I would prefer that the place was a straight up bar with lite snacks.
  • I spoke with both the owner and chef about price points a few weeks ago and their aim is to keep things pretty inexpensive (I can't remember the exact price point for entrees, and don't want to put it here in case I mis-remembered or they changed the number, but it was pretty low)

i think they would open more quickly if they spent more time working on the place and less time drinking with flexichick. 8 ^)
  • Guess this is a good sign:

I don't know if there will be a big sign (I suspect, and hope, not). They ARE almost ready to open - bar first, restaurant to follow
  • It was listed as new and open in Time Out last week or the week before. So ready for them!

    were your ears ringing? :-)

am having dinner out locally and will swing by on the way back.
  • It's open! I went in on my way out to Fonda and said hi to Greg. Good crowd + a lot of people walking by checking it out. On the way home from dinner (9:00) it was packed!
  • Subject: Great Decor!

Great decor! However, I think they need more bartenders. I dunno. We tried to get a drink on Thursday and Friday, but we couldn't get anyone's attention.

    Love the woodwork though!

    They don't serve Aholes.

You mean a "Vidro Carries Anastasia From Bar to Bar?" I'm IN!!
  • Good likeness. However, I don't see flexi flying behind me on her broom.
