Parcel packaging? — Brooklynian

Parcel packaging?

Is there anywhere in the Slope that packs boxes (to be sent in the mail)? I'll price it out, but I'm pretty sure UPS charges too much for packaging services, and I don't want to buy the supplies myself, so I was wondering if there is anywhere else that does packaging? List them all so I can call and see who is cheapest. Thanks!

  • If you're in North Slope, there's a new(ish) place -- Away We Go Postal -- on Flatbush near Bergen. I mailed (USPS) a stack of paperback books back to a friend there on Monday for less than $5, including the box and bubblewrap. They were very nice, too.
  • Center/North Slope...
The Mail Boxes guy is still there on 5th Ave - is it by Douglass? He has supplies, and prices it out UPS/USPS etc. West side of 5th Ave, open during the day only.

is back up - "Not new! Not Improved!" - you can get the phone number there
  • Mailboxes guy is 5th ave and Degraw, right next to Arecibo car service. I fed ex an over night though him recently.
  • Park Slope Copy also does things like that and they are at 123 7th Avenue between Carroll and President.
  • park slope copy at 7th and carroll is excellent
  • Park Slope Copy does Fedex.

Packing yourself is cheaper. While a pain in the butt the Post Office is cheapest in my opinion. You can also get their Priority boxes for free on their website.
The Flat Rate is a good deal if it fits in the box they provide for Flat Rate. The other boxes are zoned.
  • you have more than one option at park slope copy
