Mayor wants F train on fast track

apparently it goes express through queens, but its still as slow as shit. I know my mother lives on the F line in queens
-
the "F"orever train. Because that's how long it takes to get anywhere on it.

This conversation is about as periodic as weekend construction on the F train. Express trains are that in name only.
I live off the 7th Ave stop...honestly, I could give a shit. Big deal - it skipped 2 stops.... half the time, during rush hour, a late train does this anyway... BFW.
Also... a 20 minute savings on a trip to Coney Island is shit... who cares?
If the issue is overcrowding on the subways (which it definitely is) then skipping stops doesn't universally solve the problem.
To solve overcrowding you need more trains, running closer together, at faster speeds. This means you probably need new technology and an upgrade of current infrastructure.

I agree DR. Also, the V on the F line into Brooklyn means more trains on the track. What we're left with is congestion and slower trains.

I actually would love my ride out to Coney Island to be 20 mins shorter. I like going on weekends but it can easily be over an hour trip door to door coming from PS. Because of that I just go once or twice a season really.
The last time I went the train was running express there due to some track repairs - it was awesome.
And whenever my F train skips two stops I'm happy with that, too. I'd actually support the express train not using the abandoned platform at Bergen...it is really close to Jay St. and doesn't need its own express service, imo.
I know these stories about F express are nothing new or worth getting excited about, but hey - a girl can dream, no? -

I don't think you agree -
Haha! You're right Flaco! I meant I agree that skipping 2 stops is not a big deal.

LOL. Yes, an FX is SORELY needed but I doubt it can come before Culver Viaduct is fixed. Mayor B is just pulling heartstrings for votes. I have to admit it's working, I'm swooooning at the thought... -
Suddenly Bloomberg "cares" about the F...I wonder why? Could it be an upcoming election?
-
Tomorrow Bloomberg is gonna announce that he is in favor of no more summer days over 80 degrees and only rain between 1 am and 5 am.
Howdy, Stranger!
