Website that outs braille (bumper car) parking? — Brooklynian

Website that outs braille (bumper car) parking?

Is there one that exists? I would love to see it.

I come across braille parking quite often and every now and then I say something, but just get ignored lol

I however dont stand around watching and waiting for it to happen. But I would love to see a website that shows video or pictures of it in action. Anyone know of one?

  • You have used it on the board before, and I must say I find the term 'braille parking" disgustingly offensive. It doesn't even make sense.
  • does that mean parking by feel? I'm confused.

Dude, I just knew this was going to piss her off. I almost wanted to warn you...but I'm not feeling particularly magnanimous today.

Carmen - yes. It's a term wildly used and it denotes parking by feel.

Pull up, bump the car, now its time to move back and hit that car. That's how you know you have no more room to move. But more so its the blatant disregard for others property that gets me

There used to be a site (might be still around) that had pictures of people talking on the cell phone while driving. Figured there would be one for braille parking too

oh god, are you really offended by the term? and yes, it does make sense. it's parking and guaging distance by feeling your way as opposed to gauging distance visually.
  • Absolutely. Braille is a sophisticated system for reading tactilely. To read braille, a person moves the tips of their fingers across a line of text, not randomly feeling around.

    Done with this thread.
  • another example of someone wanting to rage when there is nothing to rage about.

    back on topic.

    Any sites out there?
  • It's sometimes also called Asian parking. I'm just sayin' (and NO, I don't call it that)
  • lol

gtfo, i've never heard of that!

found a video of it happening

You might want to take your own advice.
  • I believe that there is only one kind of person, who parks by hitting everyone's bumpers. Those are the people who have never made car payments! When you're writing that check every month, for years, you take a lot better care of your car, and you respect other people's cars. I won't park near a car with seriously banged up bumpers.

And this is what stops me from buying a new car. I park on the street in Brooklyn next to a bunch of assholes who have no regard for their own property, let alone someone else's. My car is 10 years old. I've had it in Brooklyn for 5 of those years. In that time, it's probably aged twice that. Even still, with all the dings, scrapes, bumps it has, I'm STILL hyper-vigilant about not bumping into someone's car while parking mine. It's friggin' rude.
  • Meh. If you have a car on the streets of New York, expect it to get bumped.

    SNOOOOOOOOOOZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
who the f*ck cares about how people park?
  • We always called it bumper kissing
  • Sometimes the person has no choice. If I'm parked first and people box me in practically on my hood that's their problem if I bump them getting out. If people park with enough space and then bump into someone repeatedly, that's another story. But, good grief, it's NYC and you have to expect some dings and dents and a few bikers caught in your bumper. j/k.

I can't imagine a website for it though, who the heck has the time or would want to.
