Neurologist

can anyone recommend a good one in the slope area?

Got a pinched nerve in my neck. Sucks.

  • vidro3, are you sure you want to go to a neurologist? I had a pinched nerve in my neck and I went to a chiropractor. He helped quite a bit. I know how painful that can be. Can't recommend though, I don't live in your area.
  • You may want to try a good acupuncturist, physical therapy or Chinese tui-na massage. I know good PT places and tui-na, but my acupuncturist is not taking new patients
  • Chiropractor = quack. Take the trip to the UES and see Dr. Snyder on 77th St and Lex.
  • I wouldn't go so far as to say chiropractors are quacks (although I'm generally a skeptic), but I'd definitely never let one near my neck. If you want them to manipulate your lower back, they probably won't do any harm.
  • Hey, I hear ya on the Chiropractor stuff..I'm skeptical too. This was many moons ago when he worked on me..but it did help...I have to say. Anyway, the acupuncture and some of these new physical therapies sound like they might be a better route to take. I'm prone to a pinched nerve in my neck as well, and can't turn my neck too far back or it will happen. It's awful. Anwyay, good luck!
  • I've been to two places for massage therapy and physical therapy with no effect. It has actually gotten worse.
I don't see how someone can correct a pinched nerve issue unless they can see it. I want an x-ray or mri and someone with an MD to fix me.

I'll check out Dr. Snyder. Thanks beave
  • Sounds like a wise choice. Ultimately, a Neurologist could diagnose the problem, but you might need a Neurosurgeon to fix it. I didn't mean to suggest otherwise.
  • theres a really good neurologist on atlantic ave by henry st. but i can't remember her name
