Lovely Craftsman House 15 Min To San Francisco 4 Your NYC — Brooklynian

Lovely Craftsman House 15 Min To San Francisco 4 Your NYC

Writer/actress/teaching artist, former Brooklynite looking for 4-month or longer swap of charming, 1100+-square-foot, 2-br Craftsman home in very desirable Piedmont Avenue neighborhood of North Oakland for your NYC, preferably Brooklyn. Dates open.

My home: Very pretty 1933 Mediterranean Craftsman, light-filled, hardwood floors, huge kitchen, original built-ins, beautiful furnishings (think Anthropologie meets Eames meets California Zen--a lovely, eclectic, well-curated mix), sunroom off master, full bath, sunny, private patio, washer/dryer, wireless internet, Dish Network. One block from charming Piedmont Avenue shops, bookstores, banks, grocery, Art Deco movie theater, restaurants from world-class Bay Wolf to most excellent fish tacos, affordable sushi, great cafes, Thai, Greek, Korean, Chinese, Italian, Indian, bistros, hoppin' brunch spots, bars, and Fenton's, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor. Less than 10 minute walk to BART train. 15 minutes to downtown San Francisco. 10 minutes to UC Berkeley. 35 minutes to Marin hiking trails. Great space for entertaining. A serene, private haven, just minutes from everything the SF Bay Area has to offer.

About us: Very responsible writer, sometime grant writer and college instructor with a ridiculously well-behaved, older, 50-pound female Black Lab. We're both quiet, neat and tidy, accustomed to living lightly in other peoples' homes and can produce stellar Brooklyn landlord references.

My wish list: An equally charming one or two-bedroom apartment, well furnished, in a happening neighborhood. Relatively quiet would be good (yes, I do know this is NYC...) so just not an apartment above aspiring rock stars or the like. Laundry services in the building would be awesome, as would some outdoor space, rooftop deck or a patio. Given my sweet dog's age, would prefer a garden apartment or a place with minimal stairs and/or elevator. Would especially love to be in central Park Slope, since my family's there.

Photos available upon request. Please send me a PM with contact info if you or someone you know might be interested. Thanks!

  • Your SF place sounds great! When you say long term, what is your ideal situation? My wife and I live in a 1400SF 2BR (converted to large 1BR) duplex in Park Slope on 7th street. I am not sure our long term plans, but there are a few stretches this fall and winter that we might be interested in an exchange. Let me know what you're thinking and perhaps we can set something up.
