Park Slope feels like one big ash tray today

Smoking is really expensive. I'm not sold that people are smoking more because of the recession, however I will believe that there are more people around during the day because of the recession.

I wish smoking was a good solution to being laid off/broke.

I doubt smokers are blowing smoke in anyone's faces. If you really do not like smoke then call your congressman and tell him to have it made illegal.

If you don't like cigarette butts on the street, then call your congressman and have him put ashtrays on every corner.

If your allergic, then stay away from smokers.

If kissing someone makes them taste ashes, then only kiss smokers.

Every time I see someone going to church/synagogue I think that person is a total idiot.

So to each his own, deal with it.

It's not like smokers stay away from the rest of us. As I say, I have a neighbor who sits on his stoop smoking - pretty much every two hours, and some days more frequently. That smoke comes directly in my front window; it is as if he is smoking in my living room. I do not want smoke in my living room. I am allergic to cigarette smoke. I have asked him to move several times, and each time he says, "Oh, sorry!" You'd think eventually he would get the point and not do it on the stoop - he has a chair further away in the front yard, but he never uses it.

By your logic, I should not use my living room, so he can smoke comfortably on the stoop.

and yes, karl, i hate that too. makes me very uncomfortable. i get asked at least once a week by a kid (i'm guessing 15/16) to bum a smoke. never give them one, obviously.

And don't give me the second hand smoke line. You live in NYC, a place filled with extreme amounts of exhaust.

Call your city council member, your assemblyman, your congressman.

Or cough as if the smoke is bothering you and that the smoker should give a shit about you as if you are special.

That's nice, you feel you are entitled to something that isn't a law, you want people around you to conform to your likes and dislikes.

And I choose to not only read a thread about smoking but comment on it and if you don;t like what I say, suck it up.
