Dry Cleaner for Good Suit? — Brooklynian

Dry Cleaner for Good Suit?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a dry cleaner for a good suit?

I wasn't sure if I should trust it to my regular laundry place;
the suit was relatively expensive ($1000) and I really don't
want it to get ruined ...

  • it would be helpful if you posted your location.
  • Most dry cleaners are used to dealing with $1000 suits. I wouldn't worry... personally. So long as your regular dry cleaner is not sketchy, you'll be fine.

But if you need a place, Hudson Cleaners on 7th and 10th has been around forever. I drop off all my suits there and have never had a problem.
  • Sorry ... I am near 5th Ave & 9th Street.

But something on 7th Avenue would be totally fine.
  • I love the dry cleaners (Nice Cleaners) on 4th Street just off of 7th Avenue, been going to them for years and have always been happy.

People seem to also love Randex Cleaners on 6th Ave and 5th? Street. i went to them a few times and thought they were pricier than other cleaners and didn't do such a good job, but I know other people who swear by them.
  • Bridge Cleaners in downtown Brooklyn. Ask to speak with Victoria.

  • Done Rite on 5th and 7th is right around the corner from you I've had them clean several expensive suits as well as some mixed material jackets (leather/wool) and everything has always come back in top shape.

I recommend Hudson. Of all the cleaners I've tried in the neighborhood, it is the only one that does not add spots to my shirts, which is a problem that I've had in the past.
  • I second Nice Cleaners. The family running it now, and the family before them, truly live up to the store's name. And the owner now has a little dog ... a pug ... who hangs around the storefront.
As with many cleaners, the actual cleaning is done in an off-site plant.
They also do nice tailoring work ... dealing with cuffs on older pants.

Noticed that too, better pick up my clothes soon. They had an inordinately huge store.
