What did you accomplish today?
Ok, so some days it's just "I woke up" or "I took a shower".
I'm trying to get my shit together with all of this time off...Purging stuff from my house, doing some paperwork/filing, etc.
Yesterday I sorted over 1000 pictures on my computer into categories.
Today I'm doing more file sorting (not so bad when you can sit under the umbrella in yard). I also brought the dying front window box plants into the back so I can try to revive it with water and a pep talk. Gonna do the hand wash and hang it on the line.
What have YOU done?

Up at 7, took Oscar to a training session at the park by 8, home by 9, sorted laundry, am about to wash the kitchen and bathroom floors, then downstairs for brekkie!
-
^nice job.
Am also hoping to replant my purple chili peppers and sweep the garden. And change the sheets. And get on my exercise bike -
Took poopy Mia to the vet. Today is Day 1 of her confinement to our upstairs guestroom as recommended by vet. I have antibiotics for her rotten gums, some kind of kitteh sedative for her nerves, and a rotten tooth which they extracted in a vial. Maybe I should put it on a chain and hang it around my neck.
-
Poor Poopy Mia. I was looking for an update on her......so, sedatives it is.
I"m totally rocking today - swept most of the yard (hard for a gimp), made cucumber salad, potted purple peppers (say that fast), sorted files on computer, weeded the garden, did hand wash....All in 5-10 minute bursts of energy followed by sitting my ass back down under the umbrella. -
Flexi, sounds like you're having an extremely productive day. I need to get in the garden and do some weeding - my worst nightmare is this stupid orange trumpet vine that I planted years ago and is sending up runners everywhere - but it's too hot and I'm too lazy.
Right now I'm chilling with my good boy Raoul. He's never been an "only child" - wonder how he'll take to it for the next few weeks. Oh, and I hope he doesn't know that I flirted shamelessly with a gorgeous orange cat at Hope Vet. But Raoul's not the jealous type.
The vet at first recommended Feliway and I was like, "No. Doesn't work for us. Give me the meds!" Of course, now my problem is going to be persuading Mia to take the pills. It's not like Louie, who will swallow meds or vitamins wrapped in a bit of turkey or cheese. I did get some pill pocket thingies and I hope they work. -
I cleaned my kitchen and bathroom, including the floors.
-
Finally! someone who cleans. Jeez.
-
I crashed and burned for a coma nap. Biking to come. More computer filing.
Congrats JK on the cleaning (I expect as much from Beave....if she goes grocery shopping, I'll be super impressed) -

Beave, I will do all of your grocery shopping in exchange for cleaning (or ironing, which I don't believe in).
Getting on the bike now (with the AC on, of course) -
I'm holding out for Fresh Direct.
-
I love my Fresh Direct. I pestered them relentlessly when they were delivering to 11201 and 11215 but not to 11217. Now I'm one of their most loyal customers. So I was extremely annoyed earlier today when I missed my Fresh Direct delivery. I was at the vet with Mia and my silly family didn't hear the doorbell. But they showed up later, thank heavens. I love, love, love their salads. I don't know how they get them to stay so fresh, but they're usually better than anything I'd get at a salad bar. They're not cheap, but they're still cheaper than going out for lunch.
As for ironing - pfft! I don't believe in it, either. My current excuse is that Louie and Mia are afraid of the ironing board. Wouldn't want to traumatize the animals! -
I love cleaning I love grocery shopping. But...
Today I accomplished the following; ate lobste roll and bag of peanuts, dranks millions of beers, cheeeeeered, caught up with girlfriend- all at Mets game. -
I ran the NYC Half-Marathon. It was really hot, but I had a great time.
-
Holy shit, Puck! Way to go....
(now all of my "accomplishments" feel puny...although I did ride the beast...I mean, the bike) -
Thanks Flexi- It was pretty cool running through Times Square with thousands of other runners.
-
why the hell do they do it in the middle of August? sounds dangerous.
-

How much salt did you put in that cucumber salad?
-
I got up at noon (up till 4am last night), met a friend for a 2-hour working brunch, picked up laundry, went through papers on kitchen table and tossed, shopped at Fairway, made chicken salad, put way too much salt in salad.
Tonight - opening bottle of my fav wine, Root: 1 from Chile. Going to try to watch Mad Men (wasn't impressed the first couple of times I tried to watch). May upload photo of Scarlett and me (with faces hidden behind beer bottles) at Johny Mack's after the Purple Rain sing-a-long if I can find the right camera/computer cable. -
just a dash!
-
Smart girl!
-
Oh yeah!!!! Doesn't it take like a second to upload a pic? Silly!!
-
pic of what? cuke salad?
-

It does when you can find the right computer cable! I tried for an hour the day after Purple Rain and no plugs fit into my laptop (and I've uploaded pix before). -

duh...purple rain pic would be much better than a pic of cuke salad! -
Depends on the cuke salad, I suppose.
-
^this one wasn't so great....but I did post my pretty tomato salad in the "what are you planting?" thread
-
- walked/gimped TWO miles in heat (and have swollen foot to prove it)
- got referral for mammogram (been putting off my first one), which I will book by end of week (kick my ass if I don't). Anybody want to come hold my hand?
- set up 2 hours of job search-related stuff for tomorrow. Yikes. I have to get a(nother) job.
-went to PT
- worked on resume
- did NOT drink any alcohol (saving for tomorrow. ha).
Go, me! -
Good luck with the mammo. Had my first one last year. It sucks more than I had heard (but it depends on the technician and mine was a sadist).
-
-woke up without my alarm after being on vacation for a week
-survived an entire day at the office after being on vacation
-was somehow on time for my show at Rockwood Music Hall
-people told me they like the way i play guitar
-i'm gonna be asleep before 1am if it happens in the next three minutes
Howdy, Stranger!
