Late Night Eats in the Heights

Looking for some late night grub right now. Any recommendations?

  • it's one of my biggest problems in the area. Bark just opened (at flatbush) and they're open until 2 on Friday and Saturday nights. Not sure how late soda, beast, and plan b serve food, but my guess is like 12ish. i wish Taqueria De Los Muertos was open until like 4am because i would order them every night i was out at washington commons or franklin park.
  • Tavern on Dean is open very late. Corner of Underhill and Dean. pjk
  • I second Tavern on Dean, but definitely pricy for late night drunk food. When I lived in Park Slope there were several 24 hour diners like Grecian Corner and Daisy's. Do you think Prospect Heights would be able to support a 24 hour diner? Agree that if the taqueria was open late, I would be there frequently. Maybe when Pequena opens it will cater to the after bar crowd. Do miss those grilled cheeses at Barrette though.
  • years ago purity, right across from tavern on dean, was perfect for that. before they renovated recently their sign still said 24 hours. i miss having that too - the greasy french fries or scrambled eggs and coffee at 4am kind of diner. good call.
  • I moved right up the block from Purity 2 years ago and was always confused by the "24 hours" sign when it obviously wasn't open 24 hours.
  • i am surprised there isn't a pizza place on flatbush open late. has there ever been one? is it just that there's not enough foot traffic after hours to support it? bark could wind up being a god-send..
  • Get a giant bag of tater tots from Costco.
  • I can't believe no one has mentioned Albaz yet. Open all night! Tavern On Dean is a good option until about 2 am. Barrette's kitchen used to be open until they closed, although it wasn't too good. I'm hoping the new Mexican place will also be open late.
  • i know this is a park slope list, but some (like Albaz) are listed:

  • disregarding the washington border, the sign at Bristen's on Franklin Ave just listed Friday and Saturday hours of reopening for 11pm-3am!

Nice! I wonder if they'll have their full menu, or a limited "late night" menu.
  • here's the new dinner menu at bristen's (from their FB page). it only says until 11, but i'm guessing that's because 11 is their new close for other days of the week.

as an aside, i'm thinking they're having some business problems over there, what with the economy and all. if you like having them there, now would be a good time to put your money where your mouth is.

i'm a little unclear on that. i read it on facebook, but i'm not sure whether it meant this week only or not.
