Retriever Puppy kicked by band members in Prospect Park — Brooklynian

Retriever Puppy kicked by band members in Prospect Park

p163
edited November -1 in Park Slope
i'm posting this for a friend of mine:

around 7 am this morning, during the off leash dog hours, a music group was doing a photo shoot in the Long Meadow of Prospect Park.

a golden retriever puppy, being naturally curious, wandered over and interrupted their photo shoot.

one of the band members grabbed the puppy by its collar and kicked it.

anyone know who this band is or the photographer?

ADDED: don't bother with your snarky reply comments, just want to identify the band guys here.

ADDED: The band has been Identified as Surefire, and Ben Rice of the band denies this happened in full page response accusing us of slander, me being a lackey, and my friend being a bitter man.

I still believe what my friend told me and asked me to post here. And if standing up for a friend is being a lackey, well, so be it.

  • what a bunch of toolbags. Did you say something?

Also wtf are they doing having a photoshoot during offleash?

I could say something about the overall look here but I just...won't.
  • Also wtf are they doing having a photoshoot during offleash?
i agree that the person that kicked the dog sucks, but 7am is a perfect time for a photo shoot. no one is around.

...no one is around except all the offleash dogs which could potentially ruin your shot
  • Which of the pictured cunt rags kicked the dog? Where is the picture of the bloody pile left after it's owner beat the snot out of him?
  • all those guys are way too old for those haircuts and outfits.
  • Which explains them using a park for a photoshoot at 7 AM, actually. I hope they get ID'd. I need a mission lately.
  • Lots of people plan shoots, big and small, in the park off-leash areas early in the morning thinking there won't be many people but don't know about off-leash. Most of them are nice and accept it (including dogs sniffing their equipment and them) or get out of the way.

This group was standing right in the middle of an area where lots of dogs are usually playing throughout the morning, with some stuff that would draw dogs to them (photo equipment that dogs might want to play with). The band's behavior is unacceptable.
  • I'm not surprised--one guy shoved my dog when she wandered over to investigate why they were laying on the ground. The owners were all doing their best to keep the dogs away, but the dogs were naturally curious about the big, shiny lighting disc and the people in crazy poses.
  • that one guy has some killer highlights.
  • Who fucking kicks a dog?
  • What halloween mask is the photographer wearing?
  • I won't even get into the fashion happening in this picture (I seriously live in a glass house when it comes to style but these guys really deserve it simply for their hair and small vests.)

  • I don't mind the vest(s), but tuck in your shirts.

And that photographer looks like a cocker spaniel, albeit a butt ugly one.
  • that's so not cool. they need to be seriously heckled at their next gig....and reported for animal abuse.
  • they all need to button at least one more shirt button as well.

karl the druid, that is awesome.
  • I seriously want to find out what band this is. I would like to show up at one of their shows and kick them.

Guy sitting on the ground is dangerously close to mullet territory.

I was going to ask that myself.
  • Oh...and by the way. I think would should lay off the photographer. Its not everyday that Captain Jack Sparrow gets to spend time in the park!
  • I'm not 100% certain, but I think these guys played at my nephew's Bar Mitzvah last year.
  • Subject: Shitheads...

Oh my God, what is with the guy in the vest and offensively tight jeans? Is this a Strawberry Fields Forever revival? In response to what these shitheads did to that poor little dog, I would have grabbed these ugly bitches by their collars and kicked them in the fucking head.

More evidence that Brooklyn is going downhill if you can't even walk your Golden Retriever puppy (possibly the cutest sort of puppy ever) in Prospect Park without having to look out for assholes on the prowl.
  • That photographer looks like this loser:

  • The photographer's name is Jocelyn Wildenstein:

HA!! I was thinking that her face looked like it had melted.
  • Want to find out who these guys are? Take the photo to Bar4 on 7th ave and ask the bartender, most likely these tools have played there before or will in the future.

Either way these guys look like they are at the end of their music career that never even got off the ground in the first place, that's sad they find it necessary to take out their resentful feelings of failure by kicking dogs in the park.

    You're Band Sucks.
  • Wow. How low can you be to do that to a puppy? Its one of the things I worry about with our dog - not my dog being pushed but what would happen to the pushee by my husband.

They should thank the heavens they didn't run into some of us, especially caseopele and Ana B, although I would have paid to see them try to push Oscar.
  • I will be happy to lend my cane for beating these fucktards (I do have somebody I need to beat first, but then it's all yours)
  • If anyone kicked Bruno there would be blood involved. I am small, but scrappy!

Not to mention all of brooklynian would rally behind me. I've put some feelers out and someone on another board said they've met one of these guys a few times at parties- Carmen is on the case!
  • Okay totally agree re: band and dog - so wrong - but it's not the photographer's fault from what I can see so any 'comments' should be directed towards the band and band members! She may just not have known what to do in that situation and couldn't 'rein' them in. They all should have realized that you relinquish some aspect of 'control' once you plan a photo session in a public space. This was totally out of line and they - the band - deserve to be called on it.

The photographer's job is to "control" a photo shoot. Also, any real professional photographer would haven scouted a location ahead of time. She chose to shoot in the middle of off leash hours with hundreds of other locations in the park to shoot. Blame is on her just as much as the ass that kicked the puppy.
