Retriever Puppy kicked by band members in Prospect Park

Photos of her giggling make her just as guilty. If she has no control over her own shoot, she needs to get the fuck out of the business. If anyone in my employ or that worked in any capacity for/with me did this, I'd have handed them their fucking head on a platter. End of.
-
The photos of her giggling make me want to slap that ugly mug.
-
I don't see how the photographer can be expected to control the people who hired her for the shoot, and by whom she was hoping to get paid at its conclusion.
Even if she selected the time and the place, the spontaneous venality, stupidity and irresponsibility of her client is not her fault (unless she knew going in that the band members were a-holes). -
I call bullshit...
If your friend was so concerned what didn't she post? Was the dog injured?
How exactly do you grab a dog by the collar AND kick it?
Come on people... certainly something happened in the park this morning... sure the dog was curious and probably hyper as hell.. and sure the band member shoe-d it away... but seriously, that stoner didn't go all Michael Vick on the mut.
You all need to chill the fuck out.... and stop believe everything you read on the internet. Sometimes this board is the electronic version of a bunch of losers chasing a stupid truck down the street. -

Ha!
-
for the record I was walking my dog this morning and someone who i see at the park a lot mentioned this to me as well. I was not there but i dont see why anyone would feel the need to bring it up if they weren't at least a little aggro

Maybe it was a drop kick?
TWO POINTS! -
Posted this to find out who these guys are. Not to thrash the photographer or start an angry discourse. If you don't know who they are then save your replies for some other post.
-
Is that guy in the vest Joe Elliott from Def Leppard?
-
If you seriously want to identify these guys (rather than just wait for more unhelpful comments about the band's appearance to keep rolling in), send a link of this thread w/ photos to the guys at Stereogum, Brooklynvegan and maybe L Magazine - they might be able to ID the band.
Local record labels (who are usually the ones who pay for shoots and are often contacted by local photographers looking for work) might recognize the photographer.
Union Hall does a lot of local bookings - Skippy might have seen them around as well. -
Question:
if you let your dog off its leash, isn't it supposed to be well trained? like, well-trained enough to not bother strangers?
not advocating kicking dogs, just saying. -

Not puppies. It's essential to socialize puppies during their early development stages. Otherwise, you get the really bad, annoying, barking, biting dogs that cause problems. And obviously, puppies have not yet entirely learned manners.

You can't expect a puppy to not be curious. -
If you go into the park and lay on the ground during off-leash hours in the off-leash area, you have to expect that dogs are going to come over and want to check you out. Even a welltrained dog is curious.

Sorry guys, this was too funny not to send to the boys at Curbed:

Subject: Shame on you
Hey Eric,
Shame on you for posting these photos on the internet and making unverifiable claims. Your puerile actions could possibly have harmful repercussions on these people and their likeness.
I call BS on the severity of your claims. As another poster mentioned, if they really did KICK your "friends puppy" (and not nudge or shoe off) why weren't the police immediately called? Why didn't you take more action then? They don't exactly look like the kind of brawny thugs that would warrant this kind of pussyfooting around on the internet.
MAN UP!

This is why Prospect Park off leash dogs need to be behind a fence. Other people have the right to use the park too in the early morning, or should. Right now it's like..how dare you visit the park during off leash hours if you don't like strange dogs running up to you? That ain't right.
A fenced area would protect inquisitive puppies and poorly trained off leash dogs from hostile humans, and allow other people to enjoy walking in the park early in the morning again without being bothered by dogs. Before the invasion of the off leash hordes, early morning used to be my favorite time of day to visit the park. I had to stop my evening walk home through the Nethermead as well because of scofflaw dog owners.
Not that I agree with kicking dogs (I have a dog) but "tool bags" and "entitled" could describe many dog owners too. -

If you don't like dogs, stay out of areas infested with dogs where they are legally allowed to run around offleash. I don't go to playgrounds and then complain when kids wander up to me...shit, I don't even go to restaurants that I LIKE during times when there are tons of kids. We all live in NYC and share a limited amount of space, why try to cause problems with one another?

The police would not likely respond or not before they left. Sometimes when people are being jerks it's best to just avoid them because they cannot be reasoned with and it's not worth the frustration.

If it were serious they would have made it priority to get their information on the scene, especially if the dog needed to go to the vet. Posting their photos in the internet after is absolutely ineffectual and ridiculous at best.
again, i call BS.
No Meredith, I'm just someone who is capable of critical thinking unlike those so easily susceptible to herd mentality, especially with a blinding "aww" variable like a freaking puppy. -
