The drama. So I was there this morning and I'd sum it up by saying I don't think it was a "call 9-1-1" incident but I definitely think it was tacky and inappropriate enough to warrant posting a pic of the band of bros and calling them out on their actions. Because, well, the Internet says we can.
I don't think anyone watching would have considered it a "police matter" - it wasn't a kung fu kick. In fact, I'm sure the person to whom the foot belonged would honestly classify it as a "shoe-off," however viewed from another angle it was a foot placed firmly against a dog for doing nothing more than sniffing around for maybe 90 seconds – so that’s still a kick in my book. The foot move was proceeded by a combo collar yank/push away maneuver that was awkward and unimpressive, but also inappropriate. Having seen this pup many, many times, if the divas had just taken a deep breath and waited for a minute (something that often must be done when you choose to shoot in public with all the variables of, well, shooting amongst the people and animals who come to and fro) she probably would have kept on exploring. But when you kick (or firmly place a foot upon) and yank at a puppy, they may think you are a fun band that wants to play instead of a grumpy band that wants to yell.
Then there was the yelling and cursing by the band when the owner came over – a series of words I prefer to save for after 7 a.m. mixed with something about respect and inner goddesses (I made that last part up).
So, of course, you have the right to get all dressed up in your fancy picture clothes and pose and frolick in the middle of a public park whenever you want, even during off-leash hours, but if a puppy, person or other life form stumbles into your path and is sniffing around – give it a moment and don’t expect the owner to come running and screaming across the park because their dog is in your vicinity. Breathe. And certainly don’t yank it or prod it with your band feet. The owner was on his way over even before the yanking and foot play began. And don’t scream about f’ing respect. You aren’t Aretha and it’s too early. Too early.
Oh, I am glad it has been verified that they are an actual band. They weren’t posing with instruments – so I wasn’t sure. Maybe they were the cast of a new children’s show or a traveling acrobatic act? But thanks to the quick detective work on the www – now I can sleep, I know what songs not to listen to and maybe a group of talented (benefit of the doubt) guys will think twice before getting aggressive. Maybe they’ll even turn this webtastic episode into a plus – reshoot the pics with a dog so they can be the “dog hugging band in Prospect Park.” -

the op doesn't seem hard to find,
he even has a url lisetd when you can click on his profile
(as you and others have already done)
but you prospectheightsyo, are elusive with your 2 posts and missing profile
for shame prospectheightsyo, are you the lead singer of douche bag nation? -

Nice work! SUREFIRE, eh? Is this thread showing up in their google universe yet?

Of course dogs run around and sniff during off-leash - these people were lucky their stuff didn't get peed on. And no, it's not a 911 offense - but it sure is a blast 'em online natural.
SUREFIRE...they needed to change their name anyway... -

well this has been quite the exercise in using social networking tools, hasn't it?
No, this wasn't a PR stunt, it was an attempt to take these people to task for doing something unsmart. And we did that.
I'm fine with my photo being posted. You can learn more about me at http://Handymaneric.com .
I could do without all the name calling and strident postings, etc that happens on this board, but thanks to those who helped and added info to the conversation.
I'd say we're done here. You can now go back to arguing about strollers clogging the sidewalks. thx, eric. -

As an animal lover and as a music snob, there is not much to love about this thread. Kicking a dog (if such an event occurred), is just awful. Please know I am not calling BS on the original poster, but the band did strongly deny the charge. But did you hear the music? Power chords never sounded so bad. I am going to go rinse my ears out with some Hold Steady.

This thread is absolutely amazing. There is no limit to what a bunch of nerds online can do! Haha....
Can you believe, in the course of a few hours, we made accusations, matched a band to a random picture of people, got an official band statement, and got eye witness accounts.... I can tell you this is a great majority better than the average police investigation.

wow...who brings a lackey with them to 7am dog hours?
This is certainly a tale that improves with the retelling. -

My plan is to kick a baby tomorrow and have an album of shots concerning the build up to and aftermath of what will go down as the "kick seen 'round the web".
If kicking a dog generates this much buzz... I mean... the possibles. I will now accept all bids on which corporate T shirt I should wear. I may go shirtless, so your logo needs to fit on my back.
My ass (again, to the highest bidder) is also available to those interested. -

ck11215 Sorry, but with only one post to your name your story is not credible. Please come back after you have achieved at least 10-15. Maybe 20.
I'd hate to have some of ya'll sitting on my jury.
Howdy, Stranger!
