Notary in Carroll Gardens? — Brooklynian

Notary in Carroll Gardens?

Does anyone know where I can find a notary in Carroll Gardens (or Columbia St. area)? I'm near Union and Henry. Thanks.

  • I'll be at Rocky Sullivans in Red Hook later and can bring my stamp if you want.
  • Damn I miss Russo!

The UPS store on Court and Dean has a notary. Also I'm pretty sure any one of those little law offices on Court do as well.
  • VooDoo - I've read about Russo - where did he used to be located? I can't figure it out from the photo.

MeredithB - normally I would love to join you but I am getting together with 9 of my closest friends to head over to the Slope tonight. ;-)
  • Vincent Russo was on Smith and 9th Street. For years he was a real character of a real estate agent and also provided a free notary service. He died in 2006 and they demolished the building in 2008. Such a part of South Brookyn.
  • His building kind of reminds me of Sunny's brother's building across from Fairway (with the Twin Towers replica on the facade). He's lived there forever and it's such a quirky, odd, eccentric (but real) part of Red Hook. When he's gone, I bet they knock the building down and put up condos or expand the Fairway parkway or something equally soulless.
  • Most bank branches have a notary, try your own bank first as they are unlikely to charge you. I've used notaries at TD Bank when it was Commerce and they didn't charge even though I wasn't a customer.
