Subject: Go Now!!!
If anyone is reading this and is nearby, go go go!
Food, music, vendors of all sorts - it was 100% the best street fair I've been to!!! -
this festival always has unbelievable street food
sure you can get sausage and peppers or mozzarepas
but most of the restaurants put stuff out.
We tried . . .
x gumbo from Night and Day at President St (someone knows their roux. I never ate dinner there, but if they have gumbo on the menu I will now) and beer
(Six Point seemed to be doing a promotion all up and down the Ave)
x beer at The Gate cause it was raining all of a sudden, and we like that place
x Blue Ribbon Sushi: cali blue crab hand roll and softshell crab handroll
DELICIOUS
x Tempo: porchetta sandwich (they had a whole pig roasted. it was crazy loooking.)
girlfriend and I split all this stuff -- the Fifth Ave tasting menu
and some beer
regular Blue Ribbon has ribs, and Bklyn Fish Camp had something else and I'm sure they were all great. Southpaw has a stage. Maybe had a stage...it's 6pm. -
Bierkraft had a revolving selection of beer on tap- I had the Hacker Pschorr. Beso had great empandads, too.
-
I got there just as the threatening clouds showered all the booths closed. 7th heaven is coming up next month though!
-
got there just as the wind started going nuts. had the unlimited booze brunch at trattoria mangia. then, when the rain stopped, over to southpaw. and then.. we bolted. twas me, candicissima and bewitched.

I went, and had a great time. Do they have these often in PS? First time I have gone.

It's an annual thing for 5th ave. If you had a good time there, check out Atlantic Antic next time that rolls around - you should be able to find a thread or two if you do a search. And then there's always the craziness of West Indian Day Parade. For me, they're frequent enough to enjoy, but not so frequent that I'm pissed off about the inconvenience of it all. -
i went with my dog
had a corn on the cob with lime juice, cheese, butter and hot sauce from los pollitos II
the dog had a beef shish-ke-bab -
i had a red velvet cupcake from tempo presto. probably the best cupcake i ever had!!
-
Red velvet cakes/cupcakes are good, but they look like a crime scene
Howdy, Stranger!
