YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Oposum queen with the score.

...what time would you like the hoards to attend.

(btw, for best results, don't post your address ....PM folks on the thread instead)
  • What time do folks want to do this? Since I only have to be here to open the door, I'm pretty flexible on times. Someone who is a good planner might ought to be in charge (picking a time, telling folks what to bring)--Mama, Whynot?

While I *love* dogs, my dog does not love them in his space so will people still be coming even if their furries can't? I'm not totally sure it would be a disaster but it might be less stressful if we're not trying to referee my bad dog. (He LOVES people, ftr.) Carmen, you could Bruno since they have met and you can practically throw him to your place from here if they get bitchy :)
  • No fears, Dude will remain home.

...just tell people to bring food and wine.
  • I feel responsible since I posted this. But no more!
    Thanks for stepping up!

Booze and food usually works well. It always works out somehow. Unless you need us to bring plates, napkins, cups etc, that you need to advertise specifically.
  • Yes, booze and food!

    We've probably got dishes covered.
  • I can carry bruno if hes a dick or, like you said, bring him home!

I'll also bring a really cheap bottle of wine and some food of some sort... how big is this grill?
  • We have the standard Weber coal grill, plus a chimney starter so no lighter fluid needed.

MOD NOTE: I removed the GOATSE pic that was hotlinked. I'm guessing it wasn't originally goatse, but the person whose site the pic was from obviously doesn't like people hotlinkiing his/her images.

Yikes, thanks! Carmen said something about that. It was still showing the original image when I looked back here, but I deleted just in case.

OK, so if we are doing it at OQ's place here's the usual routine.
2pm is a good start time. But this depends on you Opossum Queen.

In general if you want to eat then bring one meat and one drink item per each person. Or casserole or something pre-made.

Food and drink always runs out early so don't skimp! If Opossum is cool with it, she can provide the charcoal, utensils, plates and ice and we bring the rest. After all we are using her space and she'll have to deal with the clean up. we are her guests.

    There you go.

Even for vegetarians?

    I love it!
  • I guess you could bring mac and cheese or nachos =P~ ha!
  • Woohoo...people coming to entertain me:)

All sounds good, Mamacita. I think we've got the coal, utensils, and such covered (and our sweet apartment has a dishwasher so cleaning them is easy).

I'll at least have some sort of dip and chips, maybe a veggie casserole I've been wanting to try or a cumin rice dish, and probably something sweet. Oh, and I have an 8 pack of beef franks and tons of random crackers, at least one 2 liter of Diet Coke and a 7-up, plus a decent stash of hard liquor. We can get my bf to make ginger cocktails, perhaps.

Who thinks they are in, so I can start sending the address (we're near the 9th St YMCA if location matters to anyone)?
  • I just need to check with Mrs. C.
  • I may make a dessert, but I'll definitely bring booze and stuff.
Can you please pm your address? Thanks!
  • Can you PM me the address also?
I will bring booze and anything else we need.
Shall I bring some dessert (pastries?)
  • ooh, send me PM, too please! I can bring sopas or something else I didn't actually cook myself.
  • I think I know where you live *insert creepy voice here* bc I saw your man "installing" your AC the other day! I'll bring booze and some sort of food-type product.
  • This will be cool!

Do you need help prepping? Just let me know, I can help you set up. :D You are pretty close to me so it is no big deal.

I have a ton of jalapenos so i can make roasted salsa too, PM me and we'll figure it out.
  • I'd like to come if there's room. I'm thinking steak, gazpacho if I get the energy, and booze.

Also OQ, hide your stash of hard liquor if you want there to be any left - we are all serious lushes. :)
  • Ooo I would like to come! Not sure how much cooking I am up for but I can bring some yummy limoncello and snacks!
  • Mrs why and I are interested.
  • Are we talking about Sunday afternoon at 2 PM? If so, I would like to attend also. I may not be able to... my daughter is visiting for the weekend, and she often has other plans for us, but if I can, I will... and I'll bring some beer and hot dogs.

Please pm me the address, OQ. Thanks.
  • I think I've sent the address and phone number to everyone interested so far, but just let me know if you didn't get it or want it in case you might join us. The more the merrier!

Don't let not having anything to bring keep anyone away. I'm guessing we'll end up with more than enough, but if we do get desperate, there are grocery stores nearby.
  • sounds great, i'm in! I'll bring stuff, open to suggestions

How about one of the lovely dishes listed here:
    http://www.brokelyn.com/lemon-jello-tuna-pie-and-other-scary-foods-from-the-mad-men-era/
  • I'm bringing blackbean salad if anyone cares.
  • I am now bound to attend. I ordered food to spare you my cooking. Thank me later.
  • Well, what did you order? I don't think anything I am making today will travel.
  • Mrs. C and I are bringing lamb kabobs.
