Anniversary Restaurants?

convivium on 5th is about the only romantic place i can think of...good food.
applewood is my favorite restaurant in brooklyn and id go so far as to say its romantic. -
Those two were our original choices, but I keep hearing mixed reviews on both.

Tempo might also be a good choice, and I second Convivium and Applewood. Does it have to be on the slope? Saul is great and not too far, and the Garden Cafe is right over on Vanderbilt. I also tried a great tasting menu at Crave, but I've only been there once so far.

I have to put my vote in for Garden Cafe. I was given a lovely gift certificate there from some wonderful DH'ers and my husband and I had a fantastic time. Its a very small romantic setting to begin with and there was no rush to finish the meal, no wait staff constantly checking on you every 10 minutes and the food was delicious. Im not sure if you need to but I know it helps to make a reservation. -
I just had a really good dinner at 360 in Red Hook. The service though was eh....not great. But it was overall one of the better dinners I have had lately. Convivium is romantic but why don't they EVER change that menu!?

they usually have specials at convivium and those tend to be the best meal in the house (rabbit stew, rabbit stew, rabbit stew, etc)
super romantic place: river cafe. but that's a minimum of $100/person, excluding booze. "and gentlemen are required to wear jackets." -

yep. i'm going there for my anniversary this year. it's the best view of any restaurant in nyc. i used to work there, and the sun off the skyline every evening at sunset was stunning.
