seriously? the woman who accused mj of this came out and said she made it all up for $$ and slander.

you can find it all on the interweb.

that being said, i could care less about this event and would prefer to see someone else's mug on the cover of papers for a change. it happened, move on. i have a feeling my planned bbq for sat will be ruined. ugh

  • September 3rd is a Thursday. They must be crazy.

  • No, they're talking about the burial, not the concert. The burial's being pushed back.

Originally, the noon to 5 p.m. concert was to coincide with Jackson's burial, but that was pushed back again yesterday and will now be held Sept. 3.

  • And yea, weather's supposed to be shitty....wonder what they'll do?
  • I am looking forward to this event.
  • I am so glad I am out of town this weekend and next.

The weather has taken care of that for you, but on the 20% chance it doesn't rain? You'll still have no worries. It's on the crappy ill kept side of the park adjacent to Crown Heights/Propect Lefferts, which is great for me. I now have a 10 minute walk instead of 20. :P
  • There's sure to be some wet Thriller zombies in the park today.
10 am and I already seen 2 MJ impersonators and 3 news vans.
  • someone should liveblog from this
  • I will be swinging (or should I say "swimming") by later...will report back as well.
  • so, are there performers or is it just a DJ playing MJ MP3s?

cause I can do that at home.
  • Lol. Is your home big enough for 10,000 people?
  • happily, no.
  • Ugh I could hardly get to the deli across the street and back before I was soaking wet. Does not bode well for electronics and wet muddy grass.
  • it would be interesting to see 10,000 people simultaneously electrocuted while doing the Thriller dance.
  • Dude and I were just there. Well staffed and organized.
big screen TV and sing along.

    ...family oriented

Lots of people dressed like its the '80s.

Park staff, police, the police tower, and all kinds of bored plain clothes cops trying to look like they are not cops.

...if you need a MJ RIP t-shirt, now is your chance!
  • Ditto, same experience here. It was kinda lame, I expecte there to be a party atmosphere or more dancing.
  • Just got back. Really tame for what I was expecting. Yeah, people up front were dancing, but most just kinda hanging out on the grass. The weather cleared up and it was a nice family event. Tracy Jordan and others did some sing-a-longs and whatnot. It was really nice, organized, and all that. I was nervous at the lack of port-a-potties, but they seemed to be just fine.
  • Ha, I like Tracy Morgan better as Tracy Jordan also.
  • We were just there, but no Tracy Morgan. That would have been cool to see that. We were there for an hour and it was just music. People were having a good time.
  • We got back a bit ago. We were up in the front with the dancing- we had fun. Hey- sometimes if you want a party, you have to BE the party. It mellow in terms of the way people were getting along, there was no craziness, and it seemed like the place was just filled with all cool people.

Oh yea, no garbage. Place was clean as a whistle. All you people feaking out for nothing.
