Fueng Far (Thai on 7th Avenue, btwn 15 and 16)
Finally tried Fueng Far.
Two appetizers and an entree for $19.50 + tip.
The appetizers were very tasty, perhaps a little small. I asked for the entree spicy, and it came with little flavor but a lot of fire.
The rice was the smallest container of rice I have even seen - and I likes me some rice!
Overall, I will go back and try a few more things, and order extra rice.

do they deliver?
-
yes, they deliver, and asked me if 25 minutes would be okay, and, were very polite on the phone.
Their shrimp rolls are kind of like pigs in a blanket, Thai style. Very good. Very fried. -
With only Rice Thai Kitchen, Beet, Watana Siam, Taste of Thai, Lemongrass Grill, Long Tan, Nana, Mango, and Thai Sky we sure need another Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. In Park Slope, you can eat Thai food daily for 3 months straight and have a different dish each time. Fine with me.

have to pick me up a menu, thanks.

they have the most delicious spicy potato appetizer, i've never had anything like it anywhere else. yummy

No one beats BEET's shu-mai...love that stuff.
I'd order from SONG if they had brown rice. -
BEET does have very nice appetizers. That is for sure. But there delivery is so so bad. The last time I ordered from them it took a full two hours, yup, that is right, 120 minutes. I wouldn't accept it.
Before that, it would regulary take 55-65 minutes or so and I am only 6-7 blocks away. I love the food at BEET, but will only eat in. -

Fueng Far is great, but I'm still an Am-Thai Kitchen man, even it means getting in the car and driving to Kensington to pick up.
-
I order from Beet all of the time and have never waited more than a half hour.
-
my wife ordered from Fueng Far earlier this week. The rice container was sooo small it looked comical. She said the food was really good though. I tried a bite of the massaman currey and it was pretty tasty.

Regarding Beet: we ordered two Tom Kah Gai soups and two fresh spring rolls for pick up. Sounds easy, right? They told us ten minutes - we got there in 12 and the order still wasn't ready. After waiting 5 minutes, a girl walks in with groceries - oh yes, those were the veggies for our rolls! It's a sad day when you show up to a restaurant before your ingredients do.

Had some Fueng Far the other day, and was pretty happy overall.
I'm a Watana regular, but have been less impressed with them of late. I miss Tookata, which used to be *great* - but two name changes and presumably owner/chef changes later, they're off my list. Tried Beet twice and hated it both times.
Fueng Far delivered a nice rich brothy Tom Yum soup; great Pad Thai; and a great complex Massaman curry. And four or five grains of rice.
Seriously - what's up with the rice? I would estimate it's a quarter of the usual chinese delivery rice container. -

Love Beet's food but agree about their sucky delivery - I live very close by and have never gotten food in under 40 minutes. I can't stand the awful music and glaring pink vibe so I call in my order and pick up. Just know that they always say 'ready in 10 minutes' but you'll wait if you go that quickly - give them 20-25.

So strange. I've never had a problem with their delivery (Mr. Felafel? Don't get me started).
I've probably jinxed myself. -
Had Fueng Far last night. Order was ready 15 min after calling it in. Tofu pad thai and tofu red curry were deeeeliccious.
My complaints (and I really hope someone from Fueng Far reads this):
1. Charging extra for brown rice is NOT cool. There is no reason to charge for it.
2. It is even more ridiculous to charge for brown rice when the rice container is the size of a golf ball.
Howdy, Stranger!
