Eggcream, you are missing the point. Liberals can sleep around and leave girlfriends to drown because their politics are so perfect. Ya see, when you preach gay rights and bring none, when you preach health care for all and bring none, when you promise abortion rights and bring none, you get to leave your mistress drowning in a car and be forgiven. That is some racket.
BTW – that is some Obama picture you posted. On this board, it may be like posting a picture of the prophet in a Middle Eastern newspaper. We shall see. I am going to get some popcorn.
I guess you will have to eat that popcorn by tuning to, say, the FoxNewsCircus or by watching again some old tape of Bush? I doubt anyone will fall for eggcream's cheap provocation. It only gives the measure of his/your frustration, as your gleeful encore shows. -

There's no joke about it. In fact, I'm extremely concerned about the fact the Glen Beck refuses to deny rumors circulating on the Internet that he murdered and raped a girl in 1990!

You are funny. My news comes from NPR, WNYC, Slate, Weekly Standard, Wash Post, WSJ, ... Fox News is awful. To dismiss my views as Fox loving means you just aren't listening and are unable to accept anything that doesn't toe the far left line. The problem with listening to WNYC and Bill Maher and others is that they have on smart moderates and smart righties with smart ideas. Sometimes, the guy or gal on the right has the better idea. If you want to cast that off as Fox news loving, then that is how you roll. -

Huh? That's a very American attitude. Why should I as a foreigner be paying tax at all? After all, I don't expect the US military to protect me. I don't expect to ever receive state unemployment benefits. All this cash I'm giving to the feds and state and city in exchange for nothing...
The issue is that no one, be it American or foreigner should have to pay for a service or benefit that he or she is not allowed to use or enjoy.
If they are "way ahead from their pairs", is thanks to the hard work they have done, no free lunches there. ¿Why should they have to give away cash they have earned in exchange of nothing?
Listen, what I'm giving to SS is nothing. In my last country, I was paying over 50% tax to their cradle-to-grave welfare system, I used no social services, and I may never see any of it. I made the choice to participate in that system, because of the higher wages and huge benefit to my career vs. staying in my first country. And I made the choice to come to the US because of the huge benefit to my career vs. staying in the second country, plus the higher wages and lower taxes here. I am way ahead, financially and in the quality and satisfaction of my career.
When you make that choice to move to a country to work on a temporary visa, you do the calculus. A country is a package deal. You move, you live by their rules, you pay their taxes without using most of their services/benefits, you do it because you've decided that's the way to get ahead and the deal is more than fair. -

More likely, latent homophobia. -
modsquad wrote: What about the one showing Wilson sucking cock? Are you telling all our gay brethren that it is humiliating to suck cock?
That one is actually the most political and relevant to the actual issue. Wilson accepted a huge amount of money from the insurance industry, which undoubtedly motivates his opposition to health care reform. He is metaphorically sucking the cock of the insurance industry. Nothing homophobic about it. -
Carnivore you like to go off on tangents. I'm simply asking you if the act of sucking cock is humiliating.

Of course not. What you are doing now is going off on a tangent. When Wilson sucks the cock of the insurance industry, the reason he should be embarrassed is because he is pleasing the lobbyists who pay him for it and betraying the American people. -

When have I said that foreigners should not pay taxes at all? Legal or illegal they pay income, sales and other taxes and that is fair and necessary.
What I find unfair is to have a system in which the vast majority of them have to pay for a Social Security that they will never be able to use, and for a Medicare that they are prohibited to claim.
That some of the H1Bs may know beforehand about this does not cure the unfairness. In my experience, H1Bs assume the fairness of the system and when they find the truth, they are surprised and disappointed. -

So this is an artificiality, an illusion created by the fact that SS and Medicare are a different line-item on your pay-stub. In most countries that have the equivalent of an H1-B program (basically all other rich countries), universal health care and universal pension are taken out of general revenue, raised by taxation, and cost more than SS/Medicare. Of course someone on a temporary visa is going to pay the local taxes and not get all the benefits that citizens get. You can say all taxation is unfair, because there are services you're paying for that you may be ineligible to use. I prefer to live in such unfair societies, that redistribute wealth from people like me in order to provide services to those who need them, and which I don't need and cannot access. That's what government is for. Participants in the globalized mobile workforce take these deals, with their small unfairnesses, because it's a small price to pay for much greater benefits in the long run (I get all sorts of other advantages most Americans don't).

I like your country. It has been incredibly welcoming and generous to me, provided me with enormous opportunities. Its systems and embassies have been polite and efficient when handling me. Much nicer than the last country. Don't tell me your country is ripping me off when I am happy to contribute a little extra to your economy because your economy is bankrolling my lifestyle, career and family.
The main problems with H1-B are that it has a 6-year limit and that it isn't being expanded so even more highly skilled people can benefit the US economy and vice versa. I'm lucky enough not to need H1-B anymore and can go over 6 years because of another new treaty, whereas Chinese/Indian can't without moving to a Greencard. Now that part is unfair (in my favour). -

Not really. There's something of a social contract in the USA that says elected officials don't heckle like that in the people's house. That Rep wasn't raised right...
How hypocritical of liberals to attack Joe Wilson's outburst yet have no qualms about San Fran Nan using her "swastika" and "astroturf' comments about the town hall protesters.
Reid and Stark didn't get the memo. Difference is Republicans apologize, moonbats never do. -

How? Wilson apologized because he was asked to by the GOP but he shouldn't have and he's not backing down about President Obama lying. Libs are screaming for his head yet never ask their own to apologize. -
pokersloper wrote: In this picture Obama is thinking, "This is cool, I get women to vote for me in instead of Hilary, I promise women that the first law I sign will be an abortion rights law, and then I decide that abortion rights aren't that important, and women still love me. So cool."
So President Obama isn't relevant?

yeah, not a good thing at all.
Democrat Pete Stark in October 2007, speaking in the very chamber where Joe Wilson lost his temper last night. He begins by calling President Bush a liar, but that doesn't even get him warmed up. His main allegation is that President Bush is sending young men to Iraq so that they will "get their heads blown off for the President's amusement.
Wilson should tell them to kiss his ass.
