I don't know why any of you are bothering with this insane "argument". I'm off to Sidecar to see if I can get a good meal with being offended by my servers. Enjoy.

I see, so now I am in immoral baby. Interesting how some liberals act when folks don't agree with them.
When you all are ready to disagree politely, we can talk. -

You already know my stance, but I agree that you're being needlessly sensitive -

Yeah, you are right, people should discuss issues by calling each other names and calling each other immoral. So funny.
You can follow that path if you want, I will go the path of not calling names and not calling people I disagree with immoral. -
I will happily apologize and rephrase if it will get you to respond to the points and defend your neocon position on preemptive war.....
We do not have the resources to invade and depose every tyrant who seems as recklessly in pursuit of nuclear weapons as Saddam.
Our intelligence is going to be wrong some (if not more) of the time. Therefore we do not have the moral right to go around ruining society & infrastructure and inflicting unmentionable misery on populations b/c our intelligence suggests there might be an attack at some in the future if somone happens to get nuclear weapons before all other options have been exhausted.
We do not get to inflict our military will on nations around the world because we have potential intelligence. It is not our right.pokersloper wrote:
we don't agree the intelligence was weak.
it wasn't strong enough for any other nation besides England to act on.
And there was quite a bit of dissent in our own intelligence community but it was actively undermined by the DOD, at the explicit direction of Cheney.pokersloper wrote:
how many years would you put it at since Saddam committed mass human rights violations?
we don't agree on the 15 years. -

As I have said, you played the "immoral" card which is a dirty way to discuss issues. I won't discuss issues with someone who resorts to such tactics.
Maybe someday you can discuss issues more productively.
Have a nice day, -

Mr. Met,
At some point, you might actually discuss issues. -
At some point, you might actually discuss issues.
i thought we weren't allowed to because someone in this thread disagreed with one of your stances on moral grounds. you now refuse to discuss the issue because someone disagrees with you. -

I offered my beliefs and morals with very specific reasoning. Instead of discussing the ideas at hand you're using the semantics card to get out of the corner you painted yourself into.
The neoconservative belief in preemptive war, which you very clearly support, is a failure. -
i'm still waiting for Pokersloper's List of Countries to Invade Based on Human Rights Violations.
who do we get to liberate next? -

true, let me revise my statement:
it wasn't strong enough for any other nations besides England, Australia, and a couple small countries to act on.
Certainly no other European countries besides these were willing, many of which were at equal risk, or worse, from Saddam than we were. -
I heard a host on the Diane Rehm show say that it looks like Obama might be getting the United States bogged down in his own Viet Nam – Afghanistan. Obama can’t even get the house and senate democrats to back his new Viet Nam, and, het lets the war rage in Iraq. Wiretapping is strong and approved under Obama - probably to keep his war government going. It is going to be an interesting four years.

As I have said, I have answered the question already and you asking it again is a silly angle shoot. Keep embarrassing yourself. So funny.

mr. met wrote: i'm still waiting for Pokersloper's List of Countries to Invade Based on Human Rights Violations.
The Mexican Govt periodically brutally cracks down on indigenous rights groups in the central and southern rural regions.
who do we get to liberate next?
Perhaps invade Mexico first? -
Wiretapping is strong and approved under Obama
can you provide a link(s) to stories about this? i'm interested.and, het lets the war rage in Iraq
is he not withdrawing troops? -

you attempted to discuss issues with someone by saying they are immoral. I wouldn't do the same. I hold myself to a higher standard. You standard is low and dirty. -

Agree. Obama sent another 20,000 troops to Afghanistan, with more to follow probably.
His Afghanistan policy is deeply flawed, as is most "nation-building" at the point of a gun. -
As I have said, I have answered the question already
was that when you talked about Iran and Pakistan? i forget. can you just give us a list? -
yawn,
i was asking you a question.
have fun google surfing angle shooter.
and if you don't want people calling you names, why are you calling me names?you attempted to discuss issues with someone by saying they are immoral. I wouldn't do the same. I hold myself to a higher standard. You standard is low and dirty.
let's summarize. you refuse to talk to that poster because he called one of your stances immoral...then you threw a fit because you thought he was calling YOU immoral. ...then you call his standard low and dirty.
So Funny. -

No, I said preemptive war is immoral.
Then I proceeded to explain why I feel that way. -

You wrote,
"That's untenable and immoral threshold to have"
I wouldn't say that you are immoral and then expect you to engage. You used a dirty, low tactic. I answered all your questions and you sill played the immoral card. I don't approve. -

you ignore essentially every difficult question asked of you! but okay, i'll respond. i think sending more troops to Afghanistan is a mistake.
what is Viet Nam? -
pokersloper wrote: You wrote,

precisely. that is an immoral threshold for war. -
and again, no one called you immoral. wipe the tears away and move on.
