Flood Lights on St Marks — Brooklynian

Flood Lights on St Marks

I live across the street from the elementary school on St Marks between Grand and Classon (blah blah 'crown heights') and yesterday they put these super bright lights up. I was fine with having a more well-lit street, but they shine directly into my apartment and are SO bright. Are they putting these up all over the neighborhood (I heard about some bright lights on Eastern Parkway), or is this just because of the school?

  • Hmm, maybe call your city councilor. Sounds like the lights should either be adjusted down or perhaps some blinders put on them to block the light away from your windows.
  • I'm moving out at the end of the month, so I don't care that much, I was just really curious if this is a neighborhood wide thing (I'm assuming that brighter lights lcan possibly lead to less crime?) or just something the school did.
  • If God had meant our streets to have been floodlit, he would have given us curtains.
