What is the deal with the more to love bachelor? — Brooklynian

What is the deal with the more to love bachelor?

Why is he so creepy to watch exactly? He kind of makes my skin crawl???

  • I don't know, but I am glad to see some real beautiful women on the tube instead of freaking sticks.
  • That show makes me nauseous. I wish the women were at least confident.
  • Yea, Scar- that's the same issue that Daver has with it. He loves the big beautiful gal thing, but hates the fact that they're so sad about being that way.

There's PLENTY of confident fatties in the world- why did they populate the show with sad sacks who need validation from a douchebag that just seems to want to fuck a tubby?!?! Every time he puckers his lips up for a kiss, I turn green. I mean, ewww.

Can't wait to see who he picks, though!
  • I think its like being on a highway and watching the cars in front of you driving erratically - you know there's going to be a crash, you know its going to be ugly, you know you can't do anything to stop it - but you can't look away.

The reason he creeps you out is because you probably realize he has been dumped on - and now he is taking an opportunity to dump on those more insecure than him. He reminds me of the guy that would hang around the girls locker room door just hoping for a peek. (Soundtrack: Beavis and Butthead laughing)

Thank God for this show - if it wasn't for him, my skin would get no exercise at all.
  • i haven't seen the show, but a favorite blogger of mine wrote about her experience auditioning for it:

Not too many of the women had heard that the dude on this show is, himself, going to be plus-sized and expressed displeasure at the idea that the only visually-acceptable choice for a big woman was considered to be a big man, as though a bigger woman and a thinner man was too "weird" for television.
  • being overweight is the new "real"

These shows make me sad. They're exploitative and give an even further unreal body image to women...I didn't realize that one had to be a size 12+ to be a "real woman."
  • the women on this show make me so, so sad. (except for the nasty mean one, and i'm really glad she was booted.)

also, does anyone feel some of this is a bit antiquated? a competition pitting the women against each other to see who they think would be the best wife? the women talking about taking care of their man?

but, maybe it's a good thing that people see just how hard society is on larger women.

i was SO sad when kristen left.
  • Dude should have been black

Dude should have been me :(
