I wonder if my faculty ID will work, or if it's only for elementary through high school teachers. Maybe I will check the place out after all...
  • I like half court. Friendly place, so, so beer, baseball. I used to go to Oceans every rarely so often to see some baseball outside of the house. Half court is worth supporting if you ask me, which nobody did, but....

As far as Manhatass goes, so glad it is gone!
  • ....and so amazingly different than plan b.
  • So I went tonight. Firstly, it is really nice. Secondly, their well-drinks are only $4. And during happy hour (which goes until 8pm!) it is a dollar off. And if you're a teacher it's another $1 off. THAT MEANS $2 DRINKS!

    i love it!
  • $2 drinks!
  • Do they wipe your butt with a cotton puff, too?
  • so it's $2 PBRs

(also, shouldn't this be on the PH board? this upsets my sense of order.)

Well, technically it's on the Crown Heights side of Washington...
  • Carnivore rushed to defend Washington as the border in a mere 9 minutes, not bad.

And someone thought it was novel to point that out within 2 minutes.
  • Since when have I claimed to be novel?

    I thrive at inane.
  • will they finally open the rooftop area?

i assume you're referring to my post? but maybe not. it's $2 well drinks if you're a teacher during happy hour.

also, it's on the crown heights side. (see Way Station bar posting too)

There really isn't a way to get up there that I know of. Residents on either side and behind, so I doubt it.
  • They don't seem to care about the residents on each side and behind right now -- a band is playing full blast and the back door is propped wide open.

Anyone know the phone number of this fine establishment?
  • Well I say good riddance to Manhattans. My girlfriends and I tried to go there on a Saturday night, rang the bell and were turned away. As an African-American woman I was deeply offended about not being able to gain entry into a bar in my own neighborhood. The bar manager at Prospect Pond seems cool and friendly which is much welcome. I wish them well. Really hope they improve the selection of bottled beers though.
  • Why not. There is a rifle range at exit 62 on the LIE Calverton Range. 5 dollar entry got big dikes for trap and skeet. No rapid fire, for all the gangsters around. Hard surface dirt road for 1/8 of a mile.

    Thanks.

...I haven't shot a rifle since college, but am kicking it around for entertainment purposes. I would need a full service range (rifle, ammo, safety, etc.).

    Mougar?
    Papi?
    Carnie?
    Arches?
(I'd could list females who might be interested, but I decided against the idea)

There seem to be a few on Long Island.

Eww , no , boys have cooties. [-(

I don't wanna derail this thread any longer...so... I never had the chance to go to Manhattans and it sucks that they had to close it down and open up a bar that ain't no different from all those other bars.

Also , Prospect Pond is a sucky name for a bar. Prospect Pond , sounds like it would be a spa or tea house or a freakin' candle shop or whatever.
  • I'm still going to check it out for the teacher and happy hour specials, but all those neon beer signs scream out "lame bar" to me. There are occasonial exceptions, of course, so I still have some hope.

They play sports on tv there, Carny! Make sure you talk about sports!

Can someone make me a cheat sheet, so I know which teams play which sport?

Do they show televised I.F.O.C.E. sanctioned events? I could get into that.
  • Mougar was briefly semi-pro in IFOCE, right Mama?
  • LOL, yup. Mougar can suck down a full plate of curry and rice in one minute. It's even documented on the web. I was impressed. We're working on a bacon eat off for the next party :P
