where are you? do you have a car? what type of stuff are you looking for? fresh produce?
-
I shop at Fairway in Red Hook, but I have a car.
There is a Shop Rite at McDonald and I, a Pathmark on 12th ST next to Lowes
Where are you close to? -
^^what jack says^^
edited to add that if you don't have a car, you should consider getting a Zipcar membership. then you can rent a car for the few hours you need to do all your grocery shopping at once. -
What is Jack's? Is that a market?
1) Fairway
2) Trader Joes (which might be #1 if it had parking)
3) Rossman's (for produce) -
Where is Rossman's Flexi? Reminds me of 3 Guys from Brooklyn on 65th and Ft Hamilton Pkwy
-
Rossmans is at 3rd Ave/26th St. It's open 24/7 x364 days (I think they close one day for Jewish holiday).
-
I'm right by the Bartlett Circle, close to 14th and the Park, and the only car I have is in my mind. (I don't even know what that means)
BJ: Thank you, Shoprite and Pathmark seem quite close to me
Flexichick: ....
Shishkab: I've seen zipcars around the hood. What are your thoughts on their prices. -
Visits to Fairway require nerves of steel, patience of saints and the ability to stuff all the bad feelings into a deep dark hole in your soul til you one day get your hands on an automatic weapon and exact sweet, sweet revenge on all those assholes who think it's okay to park their double stroller in front of the dairy case whilst they read every label on the lactose-free milk that Little Joey likes. Or maybe that's just me.
-
I think it's really just you.
-
Actually, it frustrates me as well; however, instead of using an automatic weapon, (that would be you Rabbit person) I usually stand beside the offender and pretend to speak Indian on my cell phone. I don't even speak Indian.
That act, and given my uncomfortable ethnicity prompts the offender to move aside or simply move away completely. -
Beave loves people who speak "Indian". Go on, ask her (private joke, but very funny).
What do you mean "Flexichick......" Is that secret code?
The trick to Fairway is going during the week during working hours. I was there on Monday and it was empty. -
It's common knowledge that I generally don't respond to profiles with three syllables.

Lucky me. Ignore my shopping advice, it's not meant for Aholes. -
Mine has four. I think he likes me. ::swoon::
Speak Hindi in front of me and lose a testicle. -
The negative is I am a self-admitted bigot against TSP's (Three Syllable Profiles). The positive is admission is the first step towards recovery.
-
We have already met our quota for Aholes. Thanks for playing.
-
There's never such a thing as too many Aholes.
Flexichick: My apologies for my dry brit humor; I hope you know I was actually kidding about my bigotry against profiles with three syllables
Beaver:... -
Hindi spoken with a British accent is punishable by death. Just sayin'...
-
So anyway, Beave when are you and Ahole getting hitched?
Also, 14th and the park is Park Slope. Just sayin'
There is a horrible Key Food on Prospect and 11th, and C-towns on 25th and 4th (Beave says it' awful) and 9th and 5th (I like and do most shopping there). There's also a couple small markets on 16th and 5th -
It wasn't really awful - it's new and clean. But they give you the tiny carts they let little kids use and the aisles are about 12" wide. My boobs make it impossible to walk down sideways.
Howdy, Stranger!
