Don't worry Flexi - they will find a way to hate you too. -

i heard they hate people with over 7000 posts on a blog. o.O -
Who doesn't?
-
I just hope that the NY news media ignores them. I'd hate for them to get the publicity they crave.
-
Why doesn't everyone with a dog walk over there that morning so their pooches can relieve themselves? This would be the one time I encourage people to NOT pick it up!

Good. They can bring it and see what happens

Ok, so we'll all heed the internet advice of "don't feel the trolls". I really wanted to put sheets in front of them, though

I was thinking of building something like this.
....except I was going to use a very short Jewish gay person as bait, instead of a bottle of beer.
Attn very short Jewish gay people: Please read the whole thread before organizing a protest against me. -
maybe park slopers can make these signs to hold up:

Don't feed the trolls. ANY response whatsoever to these people, other than ignoring them completely, is playing into their hands. I repeat, ANY response other than ignoring them is what they want from you.
-
I vaguely remember reading that at one school the "church" protested, the students got together and donated a dollar for every minute the protesters were there and then donated it to I think PFLAG. A Bat Mitzvah strikes me as the perfect place to do this.
-
Stewart - PERFECT idea!
A BIG neon sign asking for $1 to be donated for every minute that they are there is perfect.
Although I like Dottitron's idea as well (fight fire WITH fire so to speak), it would not be fair to the congregation who now would have to tiptoe through the landmines of dog poop, when they already have to walk through the "human" equivalents. -

A better solution would be a high powered audio amplifier that rebroadcast all protest chants with a 3 second delay...and maybe a pitch change. Noboby takes a mickey mouse voice seriously. It would be audio chaos, with no human counter-protest. -

A fine idea, one which overcomes the unfortunate "single shot" problem of my human mouse trap.
...your idea has led my mind to the Army's Noriega Method.

In my scenario, the buildings surrounding the Temple would blast the music to have the so called "baptists" leave.
I wonder what kind of music they would hate. Did they come age during the '80s? If so, how about Tears for Fear? Culture Club?
Peanut gallery, now is your time to chime in..... -
:pale: :shaking: I feel soooo sad and frustrated. I am a Christian and learned many, many "good" behaviors and have had so many "good" people help me. It has helped my attitude and my faith has made me a better person. When groups like this make it to the headlines, it just makes more people hate what I believe and makes them turn their back on any faith at all. In fact, although I was affiliated with a church and a certain denomination it has become so politicized that we don't really study the Bible and its teachings at all.
Anyway, it is true, that "turning the other cheek" is the best "weapon " but we have our zealots. Plus, those that are alienated may not be able to do anything but...react negatively and perhaps endanger themselves and others.
Do people really "love to hate"? Perhaps we are so isolated from each other, even more so in urban settings, that the only way to get out our killer instincts is to use our religious beliefs much the same way that tribes in the ancient world fought each other, brutally. Only now, we use words.
"Turn the other cheek" or peace at all cost vs. "Onward Christian Solders" are two very parallel teachings and yet are both at the center of Christian dialogue and contention. It is a battle that many Christians and also those of other faiths constantly deal with, become obsessed with and then loose their relativity. Oh, brother, not the place for this. Just feel sad.
Good night dear Brooklynians. -

ABBA, I'm sure they'd hate ABBA. I'm a gay, married catholic, and I love ABBA, I'm sure they'd hate anything I love.

No no no...you've got it all wrong.
All you need is one guy to toss a vile of this stuff in front of them and then roll camera for YouTube:
US military pondered love not war
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4174519.stm?altThe unconventional proposals were made by the US Air Force
Total cost to US Military through fiscal year 2000: $7.5 million
The US military investigated building a "gay bomb", which would make enemy soldiers "sexually irresistible" to each other, government papers say.
Total paid to military buddy to swipe you some: $100
Cost of anonymous account on YouTube: $0
The sight of Holy-Rollin' Kansas Homophobes throwing down their signs to hump each other for all the world (and their families back home) to see:
...Priceless -
ok, we're working on a multistep plan. Here goes:
Step 1. As per bohuma and the military expertise, we blast ABBA at them from all directions. The "baptists" hate it.
Step 2. We obtain the "gay bomb" the military presently stores in Area 51, and then detonate it. This gets the "baptists" pretty aroused.
Step 3. We then switch the amplifiers to blast Barry White, and sit back and film the action. (Bohuma, is Barry White's effect universal?)
Step 4. The few "baptists" that are immune from Steps 1-3 are destroyed via a few strategically placed human mouse traps, which for some reason, seem to have also been designed by our fine military forces (see prior photo). ....999,999,999,999,999 very short gay Jewish people PM'd me this evening to volunteer as bait, I can't let them down!.
So, its agreed. This will be our response!
...I don't want to see any of you fools getting into arguments with those fools. You must not let Brooklyn down! -
me, I'm just going to be looking for Kansas license plates in the hood during the "protest".
and I might have some bumper stickers with me. -
The problem with Westboro Baptist Church is that they don't go far enough! God not only calls homosexuality an abomination, but shrimp is equally an abomination!!! I think we should should show WBC that the Lord Hates Shrimp.
Leviticus 11:9-12 wrote: 9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
But seriously, this group loves to get a rise. They want us to get all angry, so I hope we can either get some real Baptists to stand in solidarity, or we could just parody them. Here's one example: http://tinyurl.com/ycvtkx3
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you. -

I support that! -
god hates figs
-
Raulism, good stuff!
...Alpha Delta Phi fraternity played Diana Ross' "I'm Coming Out" from loudspeakers, and a dozen or so frat boys came out of the building to dance in their boxer shorts... -
Wow... Okay, so we should just ignore these crazies and hopefully they'll go home. Somehow, the "troublemaker" in me wants to present my little brown, gay friendly, almost living in sin self down there and... talk.
I will of course, respect the congregation's wishes and not add to the publicity.I will be telepathically sending my support to the congregation. BUT if these guys show up on Flatbush - IT'S ON!!!!!! -
-
I guess they missed my synagogue because we hang out in a church. But if they knew my rabbi is a lesbian...
Ignoring them is spot on! Anything else not only gives them publicity but also disturbs the services inside. -

Since I have spent waaaaaay too much time sitting on my ever spreading butt this summer, I really, really do need to engage in some cardio. I hear the best music to work out to is by the Village People. Isn't someone organizing an outdoor class sometime this weekend in PH? Doncha just hate it when all chatter is drowned out by YMCA?
Howdy, Stranger!
