Hey all. Does anyone know what's going on with Black Horse (I think that's what it's called.. Red Horse, Black Sheep, Sheep Station... who can keep track?) Anyway, the place I'm referring to is the new bar diagonally across from Buttermilk -- it looks about done, but doesn't seem to be open yet. What's the deal?

I think the dudes who are opening it are doing a good job building up their presence in the hood -- lots of times when I walk by, all the doors and windows are wide open and you can see that they're in there having a beer and working on the place. I"m really looking forward to checking it out. I hear they're going to play premiere league football, which will make the manpanion extremely happy (and me, since that means less Fox Soccer Net on at my house).

    News from them on Saturday was that they are still waiting for all the plumbing and electric to pass code. They couldn't give me a date for opening, only "soon." I expressed my anxiousness.

    Scarlett and I went past there there in mid-August and the dapper Englishman told us they were waiting for an electrical inspection and should be about 8 weeks.

    This poor guy -- the city is really giving him the business. They were going
    to open MEMORIAL Day weekend and it's been one thing after another with
    city red tape. I live down the block and have been talking to him nearly
    every day. I look forward to him finally passing all inspections. He's been
    paying rent to sit empty -- the city has no heart. So, I really hope all the bar
    loving Brooklynians come out and give him a big welcome when at last
    he can open up and let us in. You just wouldn't believe the small little things
    they have found to keep him closed. ugh. They really have a nicely done
    space and I'm hoping after this long expensive delay he will do well. My
    dog Charley Booger Brown, just loves him!

    Keep us posted on what happens next. I've been dying for this place to open.

    when I drove by on Friday night, there seemed to be some people sitting inside at a table. I thought maybe it had finally opened....perhaps these were friends of the owner or something

    Was def just the owners. From someone in the know: Black Horse has plumbing issues and expect at least another four week delay. Booo!!!
