I am a 41 year old African-American heterosexual , professional single lady living in Crown Heights. I am seeking nice and decent people to hang out with. My interest include : moovies, shows, concerts, plays, private/ house parties, exploring the city, meeting nice, single men to mingle and socialize with. As a christian, any decent and clean activities for the summer. please contact me if interested. ( I am back home from work at 5pm).

Well there is the "missed conection" thread in Chicklynian. Although perhaps it reads more like the Missing Link!

Maybe try Craigslist. But be ready to sift through A LOT of crap.

You could try Meetup.com for new friends and Match.com for dates! I've never actually been to any of those meetings or met anyone on Match.com, but there sure are allot of them (meetings and men). I think something for every interest and taste (meetings and men).

The "Brooklyn is Better than Manhattan" is a Meet-up group that seems good. Never met them, but they do a lot of activities. For instance, they're doing a picnic in Central Park tomorrow, I think? They're also getting together a meet-up in Prospect Park for the Philharmonic performance. Good clean fun, all.

The thing with Brooklynian is that when we get together there is drinking involved. Lots of drinking. As far as Brooklynain men go, they're taken, for the most part. The single men lurkers/posters talk of coming out to events, but always seem to lose their nerve... :-k

Yea, it was kinda of a joke with them (never met them myself, btw), but this year, they joined forces with the Manhattan group with apologies to the Brooklynites and tried to sell the fact that it would be a bigger party.....I think they're just lazy.
