 well I did call Voodoo and my girlfriends to catch up. You can have more then one :-P

Regarding chili: I sometimes buy fire-roasted canned tomatoes to add in chili and red bell pepper. Yum!
  • ^ I don't know if i've ever seen fire-roasted canned tomatoes. Who makes them?
  • I found them at associated on 5th and Union. I think it was Muir Glen organic brand. I have found a similar style at trader joes before. I use them in soups too. adds a really nice flavor.

Do I sense a chili brunch in the makings :P
  • ha....I dunno. Never really been much of a chili fan. Don't love beans.
  • Flexichick wrote: ha....I dunno. Never really been much of a chili fan. Don't love beans.
Me either! I make beanless chili. It's really tons tomato, lots of onion and peppers, lots of seasonings, and a little meat. And I love it.

Rant: I have a cold and can't lay down without feeling like I'm choking on snot and this makes lazy weekend difficult.

Wait- didn't you make a bean dip for your bbq?

rave: perfect manhattan with dinah shore after a full day's work
  • Scar, I did NOT make bean dip. I'm a very picky eater, though, and have been known to make things I don't actually like to eat just b/c the bf and others like it.

    Rave: lovey dog

Yah. I have mustard in the house....for other people. That said, if they use it, I make them wash the knife themselves (seriously)
  • It's true, I washed my plate and utensils. I'd probably do that to anyone who ate mayo at my place, though I would never buy mayo for anyone, that shit's gross.
  • Unless it's french--- mmmmm french mayo.....

    T-3hrs until fancy dinner date!
  • Mamacita wrote: It's true, I washed my plate and utensils. I'd probably do that to anyone how ate mayo at my place, though I would never buy mayo for anyone, that shit's gross.
Agreed. Mayo is way over the fucking line. I bought it for my mom once, but that's because she's been putting up with me for all of these years. Never again. I threw that shit out the minute she left.

You had a drink with Dinah Shore? Didn't she die in the early 90s?
  • Yes. And yes.
  • Awesome! Next time you see her please let her know my favorite song of hers is Shoo-Fly Pie and Apple Pan Dowdy.

Naw , I had a bunch of tomatoes in the fridge that I tossed into the pot.

I sauteed some red onions and fresh garlic before throwing in the ground beef . It was smelling so good in my kitchen.

    Oyster Crackers. :bounce:
  • Rave: The past 24+ hours of whynot-free Brooklynian have been brought to you by a mindless carpentry job.

Em - try not to put tomatoes in the fridge. Storing tomatoes at under 55 degrees removes flay-vah
