On which corner? The one where there was something else I can't think of the name of?
-
One block south of Bar Toto on the side of the street (NE corner).
It seems to have been abandoned for a long time -
I'm trying to picture that corner and I think there was a very low traffic real estate presence there with a corner entrance. Hmmm.
Incidentally, "that red cat" strikes me as a great name for a cafe.
Hey does anyone want to open up a kosher deli like 2nd Avenue Deli on 7th Avenue? -
If you open the kosher deli, I'll bless the food.
Wait, I'm not Jewish.
Nevermind.
Carry on. -

It's not unusual to have an honorary goy at PS jewish holidays. Maybe you can have that role at my new deli.

I'm a Jew by osmosis, since I grew up on LI. Does that count?
-
It looked like this was open this weekend although I was in a rush and wasn't able to stop in. Anyone been?
-
I stopped in today. Cute barista (the girl), good coffee, cool furniture, and apparently, free wifi.
Don't tell the hipsters at the tea-lounge. -

Hipsters at the tea lounge? I thought it was just stroller moms...

i cant believe nobody caught my lie yet
. i never leave the house, so i cant post anything !!! -
which tea lounge? i think there are more hipsters and fewer moms on 10th street.
as for the deli idea, there's not a bowl of matzoh ball soup in sight. bring it on. -
I was referring to 10th street.

I think my mom would drag my father back to New York by his collar if I asked her to help. Sadly, I have nothing else to contribute to a kosher deli, though I was dying for a toungue sandwich tonight. Anyone want to help me open the joint?

my mother likes a tongue sandwich; the thought makes me gag.
but, i make the best noodle kugel this side of the mississippi... so i'll be there if you get the funding. -
I didn't actually get that it was a real toungue until I was maybe 12 years old. It just never occurred to me. However, what I really miss since 2nd Avenue closed is their chopped liver, they kind of got me hooked.
In any case, Brooklyn Potter, you and your Kugel are welcome anytime. -
bro you could almost go any where and get kosher deli stuff
. its jew york after all. -
armchair, *almost* anywhere in new york. trust me, there is no deli in park slope, and it's been discussed about as often as the lack of real pizza here.
occassionally there's a special matzoh ball soup at second helpings, but that's it. -

you just need to walk a little bit south to kengsinton and there is a jewish comunity there

and you wont have problems with that or even slightly more south of that borough park
. -
alas, you can't get the soup delivered when you're home with a cold.
hey, steve, maybe that's what we should do: matzoh ball soup delivery. (i make good matzoh balls too. curious, since i'm an atheist) -

I'm with you Potter, gefilte fish is vile stuff. Armchair, we're not even gonna carry it at the Deli, so you'll have to go to Kensington!
