Eastern European wannabee tree hugging theatre schmaltz.
I just saw a performance under and inside the GAP arch called The Bass Saxophone. It's about how Czech citizens who loved jazz and played jazz were persecuted during the Nazi occupation. The music (under the arch) is pretty good, the perforance inside (yes inside the arch not on top of) is a tad long winded though. All in all it makes for a nice way to kill two hours on a weekend if you have nothing else to do. And they let you park your bikes as well and will watch them inside the arch until the play is over. You won't see Marriott Marquis theatre or Sardi's doing that.

And a bevy of pretty women on stage and in the audience too. Did I spell "bevy" right?

how can we find out about future performances in that space? Do you know of a website or schedule? It sounds like fun!

http://www.czechmarionettes.org This has the schedule. I'll probably see the outside part again next Saturday or Sunday. Like I say the music is pretty good.
