Dry Cleaners in Clinton Hill — Brooklynian

Dry Cleaners in Clinton Hill

Anyone got any good recos for a laundry/dry cleaner?

I use Yes Cleaners on Myrtle between Willoughby and Clinton. However I find them more and more expensive everyday. And their pricing is arbitrary. Basic fall jackets without any lining etc are 10$. Scarves are 5.50$

And they dont even accept credit cards. When I guestion the same guy who is there all the time...he just says "ask the boss". And when I ask him how I can reach the boss his answer is "I dont know".

I can overlook the complete lack of customer service, if only their pricing was not so high or arbitrary.

Is this the norm ? I havent used another dry cleaner in a long time, but I guess its time to go shopping around.

Any reco's ?

  • i have had numerous arguments with this guy - he has ruined severl garmets of mine and always refused to pay ('you gave me garmet that way'). bs. he finally paid but after numerous threats to take him to court. he said the same thing, "call the boss". again, more bs.

i use the dry cleaner on myrtle between clinton and vanderbilt and they are much friendlier. they don't take credit cards either but i have used the cleaner down myrtle past Associate near Blockbuster for alterations and they do a good job. would use them regularly for dry cleaning (work shirts) but the other one b/t clinton and vanderbilt is closer to me.
  • You mean the one on Myrtle between Clinton and Vanderbilt, right? Near Rope? That spot is the WORST.

I don't know of a good one in Clinton Hill proper but I go to the one on Fulton St across the street from Habana Outpost, I have no idea what the name of it is. Anyway, they do a nice job, prices are fair, and they're fine for minor tailoring and alterations. They also get extra props for not giving me the hairy eyeball when I regularly bring in a satin pleated skirt that has about 50 pleats that must be ironed by hand.
  • Not down that way, but the cleaner on Fulton at the Franklin C/S Stop is always friendly and helpful. They do a good job and will actually _not_ work on something if they think it may be ruined or set a stain they aren't 100% on, and ask you first when you return! If you come down this end of Fulton, they deserve your business.
