Anyone go and what classes and/or trainers do you like?

Comments

  • Been going for 8 years or so.

    Likes:

    Reasonably priced (I think I pay $52/mo)
    -Decent classes
    -Decent people (not all poseurs)
    -Relatively clean
    -Sauna
    -Fairly responsive owners/suggestion box

    Dislikes:

-Terrible floor surface in the downstairs room where classes are held
-There's been an increase in advertising (e.g. signs for dandruff shampoo on the mirror, birth control pill brochures in the loo, drugtore.com logos on equipment). I've been meaning to say something about how cheesey this is, but have been too lazy. I'm waiting to see a sign for itching or something whilst taking a pee.
    - Inability to seperately control the heat/AC between weight room and classroom on bottom level. It's either too hot or too cold because they "can't please everybody". It sucks when yoga is too cold....and I think it's a bit dangerous too (shouldn't be doing some stretches when your body isn't warm).

That's all I can think of right now.

Overall, I think it's better than many of the other options I've seen/tried.
  • That was me above. Got logged out.
  • Damn, I went on and on about the gym itself. I don't know/remember any of the trainers.

Nevermind (in my best Emily Latella (sp?) voice)
  • Subject: Harbor

I have been a member for the past 2 years. I can't complain...for the price I pay ($45/month) it's a great deal! It's clean, well maintained, and I like the classes:
    Spinning is great
Cardio Strike with Vincent is a really good workout
Pilates can be good, depending on the instructor
Yoga - I've only been to 1 instructor, but I liked it

The locker room is nice, and they have a sauna. Towels are provided which is good.
  • I have never had to wait for any of the cardio equiptment but the muscleheads sometimes take over the weight lifting area
