Neighborhoodr!
Hey guys, I wanted to introduce you to another website for our neighborhood. Now before anyone (mods, and posters alike) shoots me down for it, I will stress that it's not a forum like this one!
The people who made the blog site Tumblr have recently created a variant called Neighboroodr, where anyone can make little blog posts about their neighborhood.
Like I said before, it's not a forum where you can discuss things, but a blog where you can comment on the goings on or what-have you in a different format.
When I look at some of the blogs for Midtown and other areas, it looks really fun. There're lots of pictures of the neighborhood and event notices, it's kind of like a community bulletin board. Then I look at us, and there is nothing yet.
Anyway, I thought this might be something fun that the rest of you might enjoy as well, especially for posting things that don't work in a forum setting (i.e. pictures and such with no discussion related, events, etc.)
Windsor Terrace is lumped in with Sunset Park: http://sunsetpark.neighborhoodr.com/
Kensington has its own url:
http://kensington.neighborhoodr.com/
Hope you guys think it's as neat as I do!

^looks like it has potential, but I wish WT wasn't lumped in with Sunset Park. I feel "closer" to PS than SP (or Kensington)
-
Agreed
-
no Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, or Boerum Hill, or Gowanus?
-
You spelled neighborhood wrong.

Hey guys. Thanks for the plug Rex. We are definitely not trying to provide the same awesome service you guys are providing here. I think both our sites complement each other.
We are still very new and are in the process of breaking out neighborhoods like Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, and Gowanus. We started with 60+ different neighborhoods and realized soon after that we still needed even more, since there are so many distinct ones in Brooklyn.
I hope you all find it nicely complements the kind of information you get here. We aim to be sort of a stream of consciousness in real time of images, video, and short form blogging about what is going on in your neighborhoods. -
Flex- You feel closer- as in a socio-ecomomic standpoint? or by relative distance?
As a person who grew up in Brooklyn, my whole life. I'd say that statement seems pretty vapid.
Good site by the way! -

Um, Ms. Vapid here (thanks, Chimp). Closer from a distance standpoint (I can walk 4-5 blocks and cross the border into PS....much further from crossing into SSP or Kensignton) and although I am well within the borders of WT, my zip is PS. Note to Chimp: Make sure to include Rex in your vapid comment, since he agreed with me. Love, Flexi

lmao @ Ms. Vapid! glad you could embrace the title in good humor.
You're right about Rex. Maybe next time-
Nice legs by the way. =] -
I would think that one would group together Windsor Terrace and either Park Slope or Kensington-- just because of zip codes or walking distance. Wouldn't Sunset Park and Bay Ridge be grouped together??
I really don't see how Windsor Terrace and Sunset Park are related--- except for the "I can't afford Park Slope so I'll be real cool in an up-and-coming hood" people.... sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings..... -

you must be vapid too. Welcome

Vapid-lacking liveliness, tang, briskness, or force
She seems to lack empathy and an understanding for reality, or has chosen to substitute them with arrogant prejudices, whichever.
I guess vapid is just extra-

except that WT is a lot pricier than SP, and has long passed the "up & coming" phase

I think that its absolutely ridiculous to lump WT & SP - two totally different worlds
I also hate how WT & Kensington are often lumped together...
Why can't WT be on it's own? Small, yes, but pretty distinct -
Seems silly to lump any areas together but I can sort of see why Kensington is lumped together b/c there isn't much fo a physical boundary between the areas. Both areas are residential and have a similar sort of vibe. It all depends on the block but at least I get the connection.
But Sunset Park and WT? You have to walk through a whole other nabe to get to SP from WT so it just is beyond strange. Aside from that SP is huge - it warrants its own category.
Howdy, Stranger!
