  • That's not ignoring me you idiot. Exactly what is your purpose for contributing to this post? To show off what a little tit you are?

It's not childish, but entirely reasonable to challenge the validity of those who raised you to be the schmuck you are. Now of course, you do need to take responsibility for your massive shortcomings and terrible faults as well. But there's no escaping the fact that the craven miscreants responsible for your upbringing need to be sorted out.

Hee! What is that, like, four edits? Did it take you that long to look up how to spell "miscreants?" (BTW, in your first try, you used "your" where it should have been "you're." Pet peeve, sorry.)

Because the adults act like children.

    Oh. More than other neighborhoods?
Do you think the OP who was harrassed is an example?
Or some of the inane posters since?

    Yes.
    Yes.
    Some, yes.

The OP (according to the OP) was called a name as he passed a construction site. He should have been a grown up - ignored it and walked on his merry way. That would have been the end of it.

You obviously have an agenda. I don't share it. Have a good day, Jimmy.

Um, okkkkk...Is this mysterious "agenda" that much different from the advice you offered to people planning to protest the Westboro folks?

Your wrote: "I think simply ignoring them would have been better, but....what do I know?"

    and

"Ignore them. They'll go away, it sound like after a half hour."

I don't want this to be a long debate. I'll just point out the differnece in the two situations, obvious in my view. Westboro Baptist Church is a hate group which, by exercising its right of free speech, is hoping for conflict . That is how they garner publicity. Ignoring them is the best way to combat their hateful views. The OP in the case of this thread, was simply walking home. The worker who yelled and the manager who threatened were infringing upon this person's rights to not be threatened. Theirs was not a planned, orchestrated and publicity seeking act,; it was simply a threatening, homophobic one. These acts must be responded to, not ignored. I'm glad to see, though, that you have researched my previous positions. Always nice to be heard, even if misconstrued.
  • Is that being adult?

    Gay hater
  • If you beat them to death, they go away too. And that's more fun than ignoring.

You make a good point there, Julius. I yield to your irrefutable logic.
  • Why do you hate gay people?

Well, this has been fun, Julius, I'm going to go now and, uh, wash my hair or something.
  • That's what I thought SFB. Say hi to your mother for me.

You make a good point about the difference - I guess my biggest problem was the OP's need to (in my view) self-aggrandize / -victimize by coming on here, creating a profile for this sole purpose, post his letter, etc. If he's not going to ignore it, fine, but to me it seemed like he was pulling a stereotypical Park Slope DRAMA! move.
  • I thought you had to wash your filthy hair you gay hater. Go on, no need for you here.
  • Your biggest problem is that you hate gay people.
  • Well on that note. This thread has gone too far and off topic into infighting. Thread Closed until all moderators approve it's un-locking.
