Sunday doctor/urgent care
I have a non-emergency issue that I'd like to tend today b/c I'm swamped tomorrow. Anywhere I can go in PS aside from the Methodist ER? I think I need an x-ray machine to rule out a bone chip.
If the ER is it, would I be better off going to one other than Methodist? I'm pretty clueless to what hospitals are around here.

This does hurt and I need to know if I'm going to make it worse by ignoring it so I'm considering the ER. What should I expect with an ER wait?
Oh, and how about urgent care places in nearby neighborhoods that are open on a Sunday? Google isn't helping much. -
The ER of the hospital all the way down Atlantic towards the East River has gotten good notices around here in the past -- Long Island something is the name.
Hope your thing works okay. -
here's a more recent thread with the options:

LI University hospital used to be the one people went to from PS to avoid Methodist. Can't really tell if that's still the case... -
you can try Maimonides hospital's e.d. (10th ave. bet 48th & 49th streets) in borough park.
there's also a walk in clinic in bay ridge called the treat and release center that may be able to help. they're very nice there, but might not have the equipment:

Dr. Steven Simons - 718-339-5749 - usually has Sunday hours.

NYU hospital for joint diseases on 17 st in Manhattan has a clinic--like an ER for orthopedic type things. Usually until 9 or 10 at night--but since it's Sunday, and it's been awhile since I've been there, please call them first.

Methodist Hospital does not have an orthopedist on the weekends, so you need to wait until Monday to have your xrays diagnosed. At least that's how it was a couple of years ago, maybe it's changed? -
Thanks y'all. Ugh. I hate going to doctors for this kind of stuff but I'm learning that what I think is nothing often is something that needs treatment.
I need to get less clumsy

if you do have to go today, I'd go to NYU HJD as thegardener suggested. Do call to make sure they are open. This is where I went when I broke my ankle for x-rays. It did take a while to be seen (around 4 hours, but they told me they were short one doctor), but you have the advantage of not being in the ER with people who are there for swine flu and other emergencies. Bring a book

4 hours! I don't think I have the patience for that especially with the weekend train situation and I don't think I could handle the wild cab ride there. I may just have to suck it up until I can get an appointment at a doc's office.

I think that's your best bet. Plus, if you don't have an emergency and are just busy, you're freeing up time for people who might need it more. -

Your health should come first. Forget being swamped today or tomorrow. If you are hurt, get help as soon as possible.
People often need MRIs to diagnose bone chips.
