Such fun to get braces at nearly 40. Any recommendations? Bonus points if they take Met Life.

    I highly recommend Dr. Sophia Scantlebury on Plaza Street right at Flatbush Ave. Her office takes many insurances (don't know about yours but you should call and find out). She's great.

    Scantlebury is great. My older son had a mean orthodontist, but the younger one goes to Scantlebury and loves her.

    Would you mind telling me how much you are paying (approximately) with Dr. Scantlebury? I went to Dr. King on Union to get an assessment for my daughter and he was going to charge $7500--then I went to Greenpoint and got a quote for $3000. I would love to go somewhere closer than Greenpoint but for that much cheaper....

    Thanks for the tips! Made appts with consulations with both places.

    And I'd be curious too to know approximately what Dr. Scantlebury charges. I have to put in my flex spending allocation by next week and I couldn't get an appt with her before that.
