Joke of the Day......
An elderly Italian man lay dying in his bed. While suffering agonies of impending death, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite Italian anisette sprinkle cookies wafting up the stairs.
Gathering his remaining strength, he lifted himself from the bed. Leaning against thewall, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort, gripping the railing with both hands he crawled downstairs.
With labored breath, he leaned against the door frame, gazing into the kitchen where, if not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven. For there, spread out upon waxed paper on the kitchen table, were literally hundreds of his favorite anisette sprinkled cookies.
Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of heroic love from his devoted Italian wife of sixty years, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man?
Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself towards the table, landing on his knees in a crumpled posture. His parched lips parted, the wondrous taste of the cookie was already in his mouth, seemingly bringinghim back to life. His aged and withered hand trembled on its way to a cookie at the edge of the table, when it was suddenly smacked with a spatula by his wife.
"Get outta' here!" she says. "These are for the funeral !!!!!!" -
He is in the upper left corner facing us.

Good Morning All,
Please keep my Son Michael in your prayers today as he goes for the two cat Thank you
My friend Marie called yesterday and she is in such good spirits. Our prayers are working so far. They found a little tumor on her hip but the said the cancer is stable did not spread anymore. She still has the colon bag which they said can not be reversed and no operation to help her. Our prayers have given her the strength to deal with this horrible disease so thank you from the bottom of my heart. Love Terry -

IN CASE YOU FORGOT
AND TO KEEP YOU LAFFIN
A businessman boards a flight and is lucky enough to be
seated next to an absolutely gorgeous woman. They exchange
brief hellos and he notices she is reading a manual about
sexual statistics. He asks her about it and she replies,
"This is a very interesting book about sexual statistics.
It identifies that American Indians have the longest
average penis and Polish men last the longest.
By the way, my name is Jill. What's yours?"
He coolly replies, "Tonto Kowolski, nice to meet you."
HAVE A GREAT DAY
SEE YA LATER GATERS -

Jeanette.......I wish I had a bialy this morning....or is it baileys that I want??? lol
-
DEBBIE,DONT KNOW HOW TO (SP IT).BUT THEN I DONT KNOW HOW TO SP A LOT OF WORDS. LOL . AS LONG AS YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT IM WRITING????? LOL
-
I havent even seen a bialy in YEARS. bagel? Whats a bagel? Havent had a good bagel in years. Publix, which is one of the supermarkets down here, has a french baguette that is the best bread in my opinion. So if some of you other FloriDUH people on this board havent tried it yet, give it a shot. 'Pastamore' at City Walk Universal has the BEST sfogliatelle(I had to google that for spelling). I don't even remember them tasting this good back in NY. NOW i want to go to Pastamore to get one. It's a short trip but they charge $12-$14 for parking. When I come up to NY I'm going to be sure to get a sfogliatelle from up there. Where is THE place to buy something like that now? A lil help over here. and finally...GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
-
hmmmm...here's a thought. How about a bialy with some coffee AND Baileys? screw the sfogliatelle! But that is my favorite pastry of all.
-
Hey Mike, I don't know if there still there but I always liked the Sfogliatelle and Lobster Tails from Villa Batte Bakery on 18th. ave. But the sfogliatelle's are the best for dunking in yiour coffee.
-
I had walked away from the computer and just come back and saw this from ya Charlie...good lookin out brother. When I get the chance to get up there I will check it out. So what if you aint ITALIAN!

Hello "Park Slope"
Michael, you are absolutely right about Pubic's (that's what I call
Publix) french baguette; it's the only we buy, unless I drive to the Italian
Deli which has all the good stuff. Can't get lots of stuff down here, as
you know - I had my girlfriend send me down Progresso Tuna in Olive
Oil.
Hope everyone is healing their ailments, celebrating their joys,
and eating all the good food they're cooking. I gain 5 lbs. every time
I come here.
Sorry to hear the weather is changing already. There was a frost
warning in NJ, where I just moved from. No regrets, even though
I miss the country. But we now have a mini orchard here. Frank
has planted 5 Fig Trees (different varieties), and one of each tree:
orange, banana, lemon, olive; and a 50-year old grapefruit tree,
that came with the house. Delicious. Vegtable gardens down
here don't do well, he works hard at it - but nothing like NJ
tomatores. Even the basil is different.
Don't know why I got off on 'gardening' - guess it is all related to
FOOD... One of our common loves!
Terry, hope your ceremony plans are coming along. I am
very peaceful about the prayers I sent you; they were so appropriate,
as if David dropped them down to me. Amen!
Will take a quick look back... then be on my way.
Happy Hump Day! Catch up with you......................
