restaurants for thanksgiving?

It seems like every time I look into this I'm never really happy with the options in the slope. I assume Applewood will do something.
As an alternative option, I've done a thanksgiving dinner for two by just roasting 2 Cornish hens and making a simple stuffing for the side. They are easy to cook, only took me a couple hours, all dishes included. -
i was hoping applewood would do something.
i'm a vegetarian, mom isn't, so there will be no birds cooking in my house! :-) -
Opps, I didn't remember that! Sorry

Where will the old man be for turkey day?
anyway, have you thought of having a meal brought in by FreshDirect or something like that? then you and mom can have thanksgiving at home without you cooking. -
you mean my dad? he passed away 7 years ago.
i've thought of bringing food in, but think it will be more festive to go out. -
When my mom was alive she'd come and visit and I would order the Thanksgiving meal from Fresh Direct. It came with everything you needed and all you had to do was warm it up. Sure, there were leftovers but they were delicious (get the creamed corn!). It's essentially foolproof. If you do it- order soon so you can choose the best delivery slot.
I liked it because it was stress free, she loved my apartment, and we could just talk, drink, watch cooking shows, that stupid parade, and relax. Now that she's gone I realize how much I really miss that. -

No, I meant your boyfriend, I remember you talking about having one, someone on this board as I recall.

As for going out for Thanksgiving, have never done that, I see signs up at a lot of restaurants that say they do thanksgiving, but can't comment on if it is good or not. -
I wonder if Go Fresh (is that the name - or is it Get Fresh?) on 5th Avenue between 4th & 5th will be doing Thanskgiving...I bet if they are they'd have a vegetarian entree available.

Uh, they broke up.
We should have some sort of chart- who's presently friends with who, who's dating who, etc. Actually- I don't give a shit. Carry on. -

Oops, I had no idea, sorry! Yeah, maybe we need a sticky posted somewhere with this info> LOL, carry on. -
Why not check with the 21 Club in midtown? They're famous for their T-Day dinners. Al Di La? Even Castillo de Jagua should be open.

Well if we're sharing secrets, let it be known that I do not actually hate whynot, I am in fact Mrs. Whynot and I love his wood.

Let.s never have that. Seriously. Random gossip at inappropriate times is good enough. -
BP - my mom came to Brooklyn 2 years ago for Thanksgiving. I took her to Marco Polo at Court and Union (an old school Italian restaurant). We had a great time and a terrific Thanksgiving meal (turkey and fixins). The folks (Mike, the manager, Tony, the bartender and the waitstaff) at Marco Polo are always charming and give great service. The food was delicious (and, if I recall, it was a prix fixe but you should call to check what they have planned for this year) and when I told them I was with my mother, they fawned over us just the right amount to make us both feel special. Enjoy.

I went to Magnolia (6th Av / 12th) for Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. It was pretty good.

Took the Mother In Law to Stone Park Cafe for Thanskgiving two years ago. I was feeling contrary and had cod or something, but Husband and MIL had a very good turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
I didn't see anything posted on their website yet, but you could call and ask. I remember it being reasonably priced.
Howdy, Stranger!
