Lullaby recordings? What do you use?

Jack Johnson. Check him out. He even has a song called Lullaby

Well, my parents recorded chainsaws and screaming. I turned out alright. But if you want a wimp, one of my breeder friends loves the Baby Einstein Classical ones.

Isn't the lullaby supposed to be for the baby's enjoyment?
When the baby wants to listen to Sesame Street's Elmo, will you force it to listen to 50 cent because 50 cent is less cheesier than Elmo? If the baby likes cheezy music, let it listen to cheese. Before you know it, the baby will be all grown up and listening to cool tunes that put your current ipod library to shame.
Whatever you do, do not bring your baby into bars and force it to listen to Lady Gaga. That could cause some serious brain damage. -
My sister to play my nephew Michael Jackson music.

Whatever happened to actually singing lullabies for your kid yourself?

When my nephew needed to be rocked to sleep ,my sister would sit on the couch rock back and forth and sing him a little something all right...
" Mama ,mama , mama , baba caca,mama,mama,mama,baba caca...."
LOL! She would repeat that over and over in a slow rhythm.
Needless to say ,the boy was calling his dad caca when he could talk.
All you had to do was ask "what is baba?' His answer "Baba caca." #-o
I use to just hum or sing a song that I made up with his name in it.Good stuff.

My sister's baby loves Beatles songs, also classical. There are classical compilations out there called something like "Beethoven for babies" or something like that. very soothing.
40's instrumentals like Moonlight Serenade" are great too. Classic ballads etc... -
Thanks for all the ideas. I also thought of a simple solution- I have an ipod speaker- thing that I had forgotten about, so I will create my own playlists. I had been thinking that I should write my own music, but this is easier.
It's good to see that some people still visit this board. Many of the posts seemed pretty lonely.
