Tip for C-Town delivery? — Brooklynian

Tip for C-Town delivery?

I'm thinking of getting my groceries delivered from C-Town on 9th (it's only $2 extra?!? Seriously?) If anyone on this board uses their delivery service, do you tip the delivery person, and if so, how much?

  • I use Fairway delivery sometimes (bus/bike there, get lots of stuff to meet me at home). I tip that guy $3-5 and it's usually lots of stuff--12 packs of my beloved diet dr. pepper, tp, laundry detergent, etc.
  • Yes, I tip them. They don't have to schlep it up stairs, just leave it by my door I bring it in because of
the dog. I tip around 5 bucks and that's usually for 3 boxes. It depends really on how much stuff
and how heavy. Never had a problem with the service either. You may want to take your milk or
other refrigerated items with you because sometimes it can take an hour or more depending on how
busy they are. So I take meat or stuff like that with me.
  • Great - thanks! $5 sounds perfect. And thanks so much for the warning about the possible delay, reggi. I might be getting ice cream, and that could have ended in tragedy!
  • Yes, I tip. Between $2-5, depending on how much they bring. I'm on the first floor. They are nice guys. Reggi is right about bringing home perishables, though.
  • To. Insure. Promptness. When in doubt, tip. When in doubt of how much, tip extra.
